I have been going to Jack's gas for years and have always trusted them to do the right thing and provide honest service. I went a few months ago to repair a tire, and the technician advised that I need new brake pads and rotors. I clearly informed him that I did not want this service at the time (I had already purchased the materials to do this myself). When I returned to pick up my car, I was slapped with an over $1200 bill for the new tire (which was covered in debris, including a recently ashed cigarette butt), and new brake pads and rotors. The technician admitted that he understood that I did not want the service, but provided it regardless. Later, I found out that my trusty mechanic, Sam, was no longer working there. Explains the issues, but let this serve as a warning - go ANYWHERE else.

These guy try to take advantage of you - don’t get your state inspection done here. They’ll fail you for something like windshield wipers (even when they are relatively new) and then try to sell you something.

I would stay away from Jack's Gas. I went for a routine state inspection and the mechanic told me my brakes had serious issues and needed fixing. As my car was only 3 years old, I was skeptical of this, so I went to a more reputable mechanic with a higher Google rating. He said there were no problems with my brakes and thought the guy at Jack's Gas "was trying to sell me something."

As Shimon said in their review of Jacks Gas I had a nearly identical experience recently.
I came in for an inspection and was told I need new wiper blades or else I would fail the inspection. I thought this was odd because I had replaced them last spring and thought they couldnt be that bad… They wanted to charge me $45 for “OEM” wiper blades.
After that they told me that my brakes needed to be replaced and quoted me $700. Only problem with that is I replaced my brakes two years ago and they still have about 70-80% of life left in them.
When I got in my car to leave I realized they never asked me for my registration and they never provided me with a inspection report summary.
I will not be returning here and would advise others to avoid doing business here as they are clearly trying to scam people.

We've used Jack's Gas service shop for significant repairs and they've done a good job. But our experience with an inspection this week was so deceptive that I feel compelled to write a review.
My wife brought in our car for state inspection. It passed, but the inspector said there was hardly any brake pad left and recommended a replacement of front and rear brake pads and rotors for $780 (which is a fairly high price even for that full service).
Thankfully we talked it over and decided to get it checked out by our trusted mechanic. Turns out the brake pads are 40-50% worn, they're good for another 10-15k miles, and there is no concern about the rotors. AND you can't even accurately check the pads on our car without removing the wheels, which isn't typically done for state inspections.
So Jack's Gas is straight-up lying to customers to prey on their fears to sell unneeded service. The repeated examples in these reviews of this deception, especially targeting women, seem like a good reason to avoid them altogether.

Based on my experience, I would advise women to exercise caution when considering this business, as they may encounter deceptive tactics. They will try to find something even if everything is good. Two other places said that my car is great and I can sue them for rejecting my inspection. It was a place near my work where I usually go for gas but not anymore. They want me to pay them to fix something that isn’t broken. I decided to pay another place $35 to check my car and of course I got the inspection. They were laughing about this place and said that I’m not the first person with that issue.

This is the worst place where you can fix your cat or do inspection. I had very bad experience with them, so my gf even cried after that. If female ask you to take a look at the car for inspection sticker doesn’t mean you can trick her and tell something is wrong we have to fix it first. But in fact there is nothing wrong with a car.
