Either solid wood or veneer furniture made to order fairly quickly. Are some ready-made pieces. Knowledgeable and sensible team at work. Well located between Central Square and Harvard in Cambridge.

Dawn was so patient and helpful while designing a very beautiful and functional island for our super quirky kitchen. Her timeline for the project was exact and she stay in contact and answered any questions I had along the way. We will definitely return for future projects!

Got a custom bookshelf from Door Store and it turned out great! The ordering process was easy, staff very polite and helpful. Plus, the lead time was super fast! Very happy with how it turned out, highly recommend this place

I had a need for a somewhat unusually shaped desk, and a friend suggested I talk to the folks at The Door Store. I did so, and I'm so glad I did... The entire process was pleasant and smooth... The store staff walked me through all of my options for woods, finishes, etc and made the pricing structure of each choice very clear. Delivery was also just as agreed, obviously for an unusual custom item, there were a few weeks lead time, but they actually delivered a week earlier than originally estimated, and the delivery team was very considerate and careful. The finished desk is simply stunning; even better than I had hoped.

Another great experience with Dawn and the whole team. They designed and built a gorgeous custom game storage system to fit perfectly in our cabin. (Board game n*** alert!)The small pencil drawers at the top are just perfect. Addition.

We've been doing business with the Door Store for more than 50 years, and are delighted that they are still there, selling the same good furniture and components. We furnished a 3-decker with almost a dozen door-desks. In our new downsized apartment, we needed a good three-layer printer table; the Door Store came through again, with a good-looking, solid table in Melamine and cherry. Fabulous place! Thanks to the store and to Dawn for continuing this great tradition.

The tables and desks are beautiful with simple lines. Nothing ornate. Just wooden furniture at reasonable prices. The store is a small funky place that is rare even in Cambridge.

BEWARE OF MANAGER… she lacks any ounce of customer friendly support. Other employees I interacted with were very helpful. It’s a shame… as this store has a good reputation. Ownership needs to promote another good employee to manager and replace the existing one or they will continue to lose sales. Manager approached a small table-top project with a “we can’t do that” and “it will take 6-8 weeks minimum” attitude. She then said it could not be done within 10 days (big difference between 8 weeks and 10 days). P.s. when I called to see if they were open on a Sunday she said don’t come at 4:45pm (as they close at 5pm). Shop elsewhere… until they replace existing manager.

I came to The Door Store to ask them to build me a desk. Their knowledge of the different options of woods and designs available to meet my needs was exemplary. I placed an order and then after leaving realized that I have chemical sensitivities to fresh glues and stains, and called to ask them to see if we could work out a solution. They were respectful and knowledgeable, and quickly came up with a solution which eliminated any risk of triggering my sensitivity. I would (and will) buy from them in the future, and highly recommend them. They are good people with a great knowledge base who love their work and care about their customers.

We’re so appreciative of Dawn, Mario, Ava and Sadie, as well as everyone else we encountered at the Door Store. The whole team was a dream to work with and we couldn’t be happier with our custom table and new bar height swivel stools. They helped us pick from an assortment of beautiful table tops which they then cut down to size. They were incredibly knowledgeable with helping us choose a design for custom-length legs. From start to finish we always felt like we were in great hands and got exactly what we wanted. They were communicative and thoughtful in all our interactions. We look forward to spending many years enjoying our lovingly made GORGEOUS furniture. Cannot recommend highly enough!
