1174 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge“This location has a good selection of art and craft supplies as well as notebooks, coloring books and journals. There is nothing I have not been able to find here.”

21 Hawkins St, Somerville“I've seen all kinds of donations-based thrift stores before but never one dedicated to arts supplies. If you are into sewing there are lots to look at. Reasonably priced paints and accessories too.
Not sure if they offer discounts for donation which would be a nice incentive.”

283 Broadway, Arlington“I went to Play Time for the first time last week. The store is amazing! There is so much to choose from. The items range from beginner to professional. The staff is great! They are friendly and know their stuff. As a plus, I scored some Christmas ribbon for 28 cents per yard! I highly recommend going there for your art needs.”
“This place is the bomb. Period they are amazing and always have been I go out of my way to shop here because nowhere is better. They are kind and helpful, and the supplies are what I want and usually more! This is my number 1 art store, it doesn’t get much better than here.”
“Great location on side of Landmark Center (former Sears building). Amazing store. Two floors. Has stairs and an elevator. This shop is both for the professional serious artist but also very much for casual/novice hobbyists as well. Such a great selection of very fun unique gift items. It is worth the trip. Take your time to wander through both floors. Don't worry about feeling overwhelmed by the great selection of pens, pencils, paper, paints etc.The store was very well staffed with helpful employees. We were asked numerous times if we needed help and they were very pleasant and knowledgeable.Adults and kids will enjoy the store. Great greeting cards, candles, bracelets, games, novelty toys, stickers and so much more. Had a great shopping experience. Will definitely revisit.”

61 Thayer St, Boston“Great yarn selection and great staff. I was in Boston for a conference and feeling kind of lost when I checked them out. Super helpful and made me feel welcome at the Knit Night going on. Please patronize them! Good yarn stores are also good third spaces which we all need! A bonus: they have and sell super cute stickers!”

1189B Massachusetts Ave, Arlington“My friend booked the Mosaic Taster Class as a fun activity, I had never really done anything like this to be honest and WOW, it was such an amazing experience! Suzanne is a wonderful teacher and she is very detailed with her explanations. I'd definitely recommend taking her classes and I'm looking forward to going back and taking more!”

94 Franklin St, Quincy“I had a painting framed by them. Worked with Dennis. The initial frame we had for the painting had cracked, and he was able to offer an alternative on the spot that matched the color. He was friendly and professional. The job was completed on time, and the painting looks great!”
7:30AM - 4PM
917 Main St, Waltham“I absolutely love this place. They have mixed up all of the paint I have needed to redo my entire condominium. The staff is so helpful and if you are extra lucky, Ruby the golden retriever might be snoozing in the back.”
“Went in on a Sunday to pick up an order for my wife. Store was not yet open, but they were very nice and helped me anyway. There was a mix-up on the order that was not their fault. Tricia (manager?) was very polite and professional and straightened everything out quickly and efficiently. Absolutely wonderful customer service. Very well done!”
“This place was so good. Had the Bibimbap bowl with organic greens and ginger beef. It was amazing. It included egg, kim chi, pickled yellow radish, fresh cucumber, cooked spinach, chili sauce. It was an amazing explosion of flavor and a healthy, nourishing meal as well. The ginger beef had a great flavor and they gave me a lot of it. In Boston, most restaurants really skimp on the meat or protein, no matter how much you pay for it, but it seems like this little bowl place does not. I was extremely pleased with my meal here and the price was quite fair. There was a single staff member responsible for making the food and manning the cash register, but she did a fantastic job. FInished making a bowl, entered my order and then right back to her queue of orders (with proper glove hygiene). You take the buzzer, find your seat and come back. The Time Out food park is a lively space as well, I always enjoy eating there.”

728 Legacy Pl, Dedham“Great selection and friendly staff! Located in a busy shopping center, but ample parking available. I enjoyed being able to pick out gifts and how things were thoughtfully displayed and organized.”

1361 Beacon St, Brookline“I want to give this store 5 stars. I was walking to the shoe store and came across the Paper Source. I needed some special gifts for my daughter and the other children in the Boston Children’s Hospital. The gentleman working today helped me pick out several gifts that will go to children in pain. They are at the hospital for 3 - 8 weeks depending on the children and their diagnosis. I left from the Paper Source with perfect gifts for each of them. There is so much to choose from, with a rainbow of colors to uniqueness, this store has it. Highly recommend:)”
“Bellow there is a review about us not wanting to cut pieces of fabric and then having to call the police. I am the girl that was there. They wanted to have 5 different fabrics 20 yards each cut into 1 yard pieces. That would be 100 pieces to be cut. I also had a line of 5 people behind them. I ended up cutting some and then they kept asking after I said no. They started becoming irrate and yelling so I took the next customer. While I was cutting for that customer she comes behind the counter picks up the fabric she wanted and threw the fabric on the counter in front of me twice. A customer was the one to call 911. She starting yelling in my managers face. Causing another customer to start yelling at her saying thats no way to treat people. Then when the police showed up they then started screaming at the police which is why if they show up they are trespassing. Also I work with with Asian people and I get many customers who speak in broken English from many different cultures I do not care about that but I do care about being treated like a human.”
“I didn’t know what to expect at this store but I’m really glad I took the trip to come out here. The girl who worked at the sewing center or whatever it’s called is so sweet, you can really tell she loves her job and enjoys helping people. She gave me really clear directions and I found what I needed within seconds. I’m pretty sure she came around the corner to see if I found the item, so I really appreciate her for going the extra mile. I went to check out at the cash register and was met by Araya, a literal ray of ☀️. She also seems to enjoy her job and is so positive! We were able to chat for a bit and she was very relatable, she made my day with the great conversation we had. Joann in Saugus has wonderful employees which is very rare nowadays, bless both of you!”
“Although the store had everything that I needed, store personnel only pointed to the potential location of the items. Good supplies, poor associate interaction and support.
Several sale items were not priced.”
10AM - 4PM
910 Broadway, Saugus“Crazy busy during February vacation but the two staff members worked their butts off to keep everyone happy! There was a great selection of pieces and variety of price range. We were very happy with the finished projects!”
“I am a painting contractor and I deal with many stores and I know Colorworks since I worked as a painter for another company and I'm always treated as a valuable customer. I basically work in the Metrowest/Northfolk areas rarely in the Northshore, but I still have mostly of my project orders coming/made from Colorworks. They are the best in matching colors. All the staff are very pleasant and knowledgeable about the product. I'll definetelly keep using their services!”
“Browsing this beautiful shop is an enjoyable experience. I felt as if I were in a museum, a personal collection or as if I had traveled far, far away. It is easy to tell that much love and care is put into the inventory. Tsering himself was friendly and kind. He helped me find a particular ring I was looking for and let me open many textiles to see them better. He shared some funny stories about first encounters with Bhutanese phallic motifs. It was an educational time, much more than a quick stop in a shop, and next time I come back to MA I’ll be sure to stop by! Thank you Tsering!”
