A bit more interesting of a layout than the store in my home town. Never thought to see escalators in a book store but there they are.

The price is there to remind you that reading is a luxury that to many are without. But, when you have the $$, a great way to spend a lazy afternoon (stormy, super hot, etc...), with the kiddos, is for all to find a new book and to share a venti frap while reading to each other (and themselves). There are lots of ways to spruce it up (like, picking out each other's books or teaching each other something new).

My wife and I have always loved Barnes and Nobles, now that we are parents we love it even more. They have a good blend of caffeine + trinkets / toys to books for everyone. They have escalators and an elevator to get to and from the second floor, which is great because our son is obsessed with riding both of those things.
He's already memorized the path straight to the kids reading nook and while he's not old enough to read by himself he loves to climb their stage area used for weekly activities and the kids chairs and benches around it. The fact that every time we go there are other children there reading is a testimony to how great a place it is for parents to bring their kids who love books and a calming atmosphere.

As is always the case at BN, the "booksellers" were cordial and helpful. They found that the book I was seeking had just come in and was still in receiving, so they retrieved it for me from there. My mission was accomolished.

I have been to many Barnes in Nobles, in many different States, including multiple in California, Hawaii, etc and now this one in Massachusetts. Some are small. My local one I love but it's over 20 years old and starting to show it's age. I will say, this Barnes and Noble was very nice. It was 2 stories, with all the toys that Barnes and Noble has decided to carry (they must be making money off of it but to me personally, it's a book store, not a toy store) upstairs so at least the toys were primary away from most books but not all. They store was very clean, the little interaction I had was staff was pleasant enough, though, unfortunately, like most Barnes and Nobles, actually most stores these days, there wasn't a lot of staff to be found if you needed assistance. It's a nice store but like most things in this area, getting to it took, from Waltham to Burlington MA, maybe 15 miles, it took 45 minutes to get to it! The roads back East leave a lot to be desired but that's another review. Visit it of you have the time and enjoy chain bookstores. I like independent bookstores but those are becoming rare. Actually, so are chain bookstores.

Lovely place to shop for books and gifts. This store is larger than the other B&N out there.
