Affordable place to stay when my daughter has to come in for treatments. Very quiet and private rooms. The playroom is also very clean and so many toys for the kids to use. The only downfall was the mouse traps in the living room and being spoken to very firmly about my daughter playing the piano a little too loudly. Believe me, I know that people need to rest, especially after chemotherapy and other treatments, so I wouldn't have let her play it loud enough to disturb other guests.

Very big yet cozy house, friendly, accommodating staff, amenities for families and a great location just a few blocks from the medical corridor, parks and parkways and a T stop. Our son needed medical treatment and we were grateful to be able to stay here while he was in the hospital. They have a play room with lots of toys, including an entire cast of puppets and props to stage little plays, and even a freezer almost always stocked with popsicles and ice cream. Local organizations cook or bring dinner several times a month, sometimes several nights a week. People there are quite friendly, willing to engage and talk about things or give you space if that's what you need. If your family needs a place to stay in Boston while a loved one needs special treatment and care, I'd recommend Boston House.
