The employees of this branch of TD Bank in Washington Square, Brookline, have always been extremely helpful, patient and friendly over a good many years. I won't mention individual names because the staff have changed over the years and I have dealt with so many helpful people, from tellers to bank managers.Besides my own personal checking account, I, as Executor of an Estate and Trustee of a Trust, have opened bank accounts for those entities at this branch. I have also used their free notary services a number of times. They have helped me navigate necessary overseas transfer of funds, among other things. They have always providedwhen asked, good advice. Also, it makes me feel good to be recognized and called by my name whenever I enter.

Literally the worst banking experience ever. My savings account kept getting hit with fees. With no real help from the online banking associates, I visit this branch. They closed the account to avoid future fees. Then they tell me they would have reimbursed the fees if I didn’t close my account. What in the world. I could have just received the reimbursement then closed the account. This is an example of the lack of clear communication. Sorry Celtics. I love TD Garden but TD bank is horrible. I will completely terminate my relationship with this bank over the next month or so.

TD Bank is a Canadian Bank that funds/finances fossil-fuel projects that increase greenhouse gases and accelerate climate chaos. Consider not using TD until they drop fossil-fuels. Steve -- TD Bank funds the tar sands project in northern Canada

The bank branch staff is great, but after 10+ years of banking with TD, I've found their back office hopeless. The website is frequently offline -- right now, for example. It is beyond me why they can't limit these times to the middle of the night. Don't make special requests either. I ordered copies of back records online, and they never sent them. When I have contacted customer support, they have been unable to address system shortcomings. If all you need are local, in person banking, again, I'd recommend the branch team 100%, but the bank's services as a whole fall short of being "convenient" in a digital age.

Just walked 2 miles to this location to make a deposit and the only ATM in the building is yet again out of service. For a bank that claims to be the most convenient they have a serious lack of ATMs. Going to switch to a bank that has working ATMs and better locations.

Small branch with nice staff. Major complaint is that the ATM is frequently down so its difficult to make deposits.

This is a small branch, but why would you need anything larger? The staff are amazing. I am always treated very well when I go into the branch and feel safe at the ATMs in the evening.

This branch is awful. Every time I go in the woman who works there named Anna Fartsanuya (spelling?) avoids doing any work. This woman is a master delegator. Every time we go in she finds a way to avoid doing work. I went in yesterday to change my name on my account and she made me wait ten minutes until her coworker came back from lunch (despite her and another person doing nothing behind the counter). Then, once the guy came back, he wouldn't let me change my legal name on my joint account without my husbands permission. Despite already having the joint account and full ownership under my maiden name, and a copy of my new drivers license and marriage certificate with me. What an ironic policy, considering I could have closed the account and withdrawn all the money right then and there, without my husbands permission! I just left the branch near Copley Square and guess what? I was allowed to change my name without my husbands "permission." I won't be returning to this branch. Terrible customer service. I like TD Bank in general though.

Holding a bank issued check from my employer for 'up to 30 days' because apparently when you open a checking account they 'have the right' to hold the money. I get that fraud exists but the checks have already cleared from my employers account. The worst part is that online it says the funds are available to use. This is really It has been a nightmare and I regret sincerely choosing this bank.

Recently, someone gave me a check from this bank. I needed the cash immediately, so I went to the bank itself. From prior experience I knew that they would charge me $7 to cash the check because I don't have an account there (other banks don't do this). So I was dreading the experience of losing $7 for no good reason (and then being asked if I wanted to open an account so I could avoid this charge.) What happened, though, I didn't expect. They told me that because the handwriting in the blank for "to" was different from the rest of the check, they needed to call the client. When I showed surprise, explaining that it doesn't really matter, and I've cashed checks like that my whole life where I fill in the word "cash" (the check was for $100), they said we're not cashing this at all and took the check from me. Since then I've asked other banks if they would create such drama over something so small, and they say no, of course not.

The only thing worse than terrible customer service is being told about the "legendary customer service" you are receiving while you are on hold (before they drop your call AGAIN). As for this branch, I came in to open an account and had to wait a half-hour for the privilege. The guy who finally deigned to open an account for me was supposed to contact the other person to be added to the account and facilitate that. Instead he did nothing, and then went on vacation. The other people at this branch were even more useless. I really really hate these people.

its time to bank human again.. ha!!! i tried to open two accounts today, one a commercial, one a joint account for me and my wife. I was commenting to the person at the grand opening that i was leaving Sovereign Bank because they are so rigid.." we are quite flexible.... you will see.. where is your wife?" "she is not here, i can take paperwork with me and being it back w/ a copy of her drivers license.". "No we do not do it that way here.. she has to come in person or she can not be on the account".. wow flexible like you said.. i bet the pens were chained there also..
