My fiance, his family, and I were regular customers of Tuttle Cleaners. I say past tense, because due to my incredibly unpleasant experience this morning, we will all be taking our business elsewhere. I purchased a maxi dress for a family friend's wedding. It came in two weeks ago, and I tried it on but it was just slightly too long. I took it next door to Tuttle's Cleaners to be shortened the next day, tags still on. I picked up the dress last week right before we left to travel (driving) to the wedding. I left the dress in the bag thinking, it's not worth trying on again, because if it's not short enough still, I have to wear it anyways. We get to the hotel and start getting ready. I the dress out of the bag and put it on, and there is a clean slice across the top of the fabric (very clearly from scissors, not a tear). I was annoyed. I also noticed it RIGHT away because it was in my line of vision. Luckily the dress had another layer under it, so I could get away with wearing it to the wedding. When my family saw the dress, they said to go back and let the cleaner know the dress was brand new (it was), with tags (it was) and therefore it was definitely a mistake they made. Which would have been fine. I went into the cleaner this morning and mentioned the above, that I ordered the dress brand new and had never been worn. I had actually tried the dress on once at home when I bought it (to notice it was too long) and there was NO tear on the brand new dress. She looks and giggles and says "it wasn't us, you must have done that". I responded that my dress was brand new and it was not me, I would have noticed, and the cut is clearly a clean scissors cut. She looks again, and says "You did it. Not us". I paused for a minute and she says "So what are you going to do? Are you going to have it fixed?". I was annoyed and just said "Elsewhere". I recommend driving anywhere else for your dry cleaning and any alterations you may need to your clothing. This was a terrible customer experience, and could have been solved quite easily. If the dress was not brand new, I wouldn't be positive it was them, but it was, and I am. None of us will be returning here.

Terrible. Somehow the irreplaceable buttons on my coat were crushed by their machines. After 2 months and 3 phone calls placed by me they said they couldn't find replacement buttons. The manager was very nice but the owner made me feel like the damage was somehow my fault. Completely condescending. She also didn't want to pay damages. I wish I had asked around before using Tuttle because I quickly learned of their reputation after my problem arose.

Listen to every other review...DO NOT GO HERE. My pants looks like they are more dirty now than they were before. It almost looks like they took an iron to the dirt that TUTTTLES put on my pants just to set in that stain real good. There are so many other great dry cleaners in the area that there is no reason to go here.

Since this place is a chain all along Main Street, I wanted to write a review here as well. This place was over priced to begin with compared to even most placed in the south end. I tried it because it was convenient. The press on the pants was mediocre at best and the wash and fold experience has just been a nightmare. I have dropped off my clothes to get washed m only to get them returned with oil spots on ALL of my clothes. When I brought it to their attention they denied it and said I stained it myself prior to bringing the clothes in. Are you guys really on crack? Why would I not get it dry cleaned if I did it myself. Now i have all my expensive polo's ruined. I really thing who ever reads this should stay away from this wretched place. Over priced, service is bad and totally not worth it.

Watch out . . . I went to Tuttles after a pick up and delivery service used by my building ruined an expensive dress. Tuttles started out OK, but all of a sudden in January my clothing came back smelling like old URINE!! Nothing worse than sitting in your office wondering if you had sat in urine on your train ride in!! I sent my pants along with others to be cleaned again - three pair black, one pair stone. When my pants came back all three black pair reeked of that same urine smell, but the lighter pair seemed to be fine. I left the three black pair hanging on separate doorknobs throughout our apartment free of the plastic for a good three weeks and the smell did not go away. Out of desperation, I searched around the internet for a new pick up and delivery service. I did find one and when I spoke to the wonderful customer service representative and told her about the situation, she knew EXACTLY what the smell was . . . brace yourself: Apparently there is a cleaner used in the process that if it's a busy cleaners, needs to be changed each day or two days at most. If it isn't, it produces the urine-like stink. Here's the kicker: the reason I was only smelling it on my dark clothing is that when the cleaner gets to the point where it smells, it means it has turned the color of TAR!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DRY CLEANER. I would recommend that the agency who protects consumers against hazards like this make a trip over! Really unfortunate.
