Don’t bring food they had lots of it, save som scarps for the ? to feed for the kids who are not able to swim too far

Tropicals prices are very high they're basically the only tropical store in the vicinity that cater to African, Dominican, Puerto Rican, El Salvador, etc type foods. High low was based in Jamaica plain and they were a tropical store as well prices were very reasonable as was tropicals at one time I have to drive up the street to another store to get what I should get that's a few blocks away from my home. When I do shop here it's because I am getting one item and if it's costly I will go half a mile up the street to the next door and purchase there for instance I came to pick up ham hocks their hancocks were going at $8.40 a package of two ham hocks I went to the store up the street which is called PriceRite I purchase the same amount of ham hocks for $4 and some change. This is just an example.

Good selection of caribbean and African dry Ingredients and veggies. The meat is of questionable quality and poorly packed so I recommend buying that elsewhere.

The store is clean, but the meat items aren't always the freshest. You need to double check the dates on each package. Other than that, great variety of food items.Staff are very helpful and bilingual, which is helpful.

Tropical Foods Roxbury Washington StHonestly, the prices here are not high very fair. If it wasn't for the mean and non-professional cashiers I would give 3 stars. If they hired more racially diverse people...I would give them 4 stars. This community market caters to Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Blacks, Haitians, Jamaicans....people of color.Yet. Less than 1% of the staff are black or of black heritage, Most of the ppl who work at the market can't even speak English very well or at all.Why is that? This market seems like a big party place for their cashiers. I have been going to this market frequently. Every time, I go into this market it seems like a nightclub party at the front with the cashiers. The cashiers are talking loudly, dancing to loud music and all laughing & speaking loudly in Spanish as if they are at a girl's night out party or home. So not professional! The cashiers are all predominantly Dominican and NOT professional. I speak Spanish but they assume that I do not know Spanish. I overhear them talking badly about all ppl, especially the darker-skinned ppl of African heritage/descent. I think the cashiers assume that I don't speak Spanish to know what they are saying. But I speak fluent Spanish.Yet, the owners of this company allow this behavior. Why is this?I want to know why is it that less than 1% of the staff working here are black or of African heritage. Why?Does Tropicals Food Market, have a federally mandated inclusion policy? It seems Tropical Markets in Boston make major money but do not give job opportunities to the non-Latino community.I'm of black heritage... the cashiers do not speak to me, and they do not greet me at the counter even though I go into this market 2-3 times a week. I see them and I speak and not one cashier has ever spoken back. The cashiers in my opinion are not nice or friendly towards ppl of black heritage. In my opinion, this market may not be promoting racial diversity in its hiring practices. Yet, they are making a lot of profit dollars in this racially diverse community.

One star is too much the staff is rude and acts like they only speak Spanish the Cashiers eat at the desk wear nasty outfits and talk on the phone while customers are in line they follow you around the store the food is Overpriced especially the Meat and I would never recommend this shop to anyone they're spiteful and say negro about African Americans who they think don't understand they need to be shut down we need new stores to shop in this isn't it

Kibenash was very rude, lacks basic hygiene and customer service etiquette. This was my first time shopping here, and I'm appalled at how a simple instruction escalated to a conflict. I politely asked my cashier Kibenash not to dump my vegetables bare on her station. She explained they had to be in separate bags, so I brought out bags and first picked all she dumped. Before I reached for another bag, she picked up the bag I filled and dumped them out again. She did this twice until I got stern and asked for a manager. It was only then she reached out to the rolls by her station to pack my products with more hygiene. Even then she angrily threw my product accross. I have never experienced anything like this going to a grocery store and the business would be smarter to properly address workers like Kibenash or rid them if they cannot improve at basic customer service.

Great product mix and staff is very friendly. If you’re a hot sauce collector, this place is a must! (Make sure to look down every aisle - hot sauces are sorted by place of origin.)
