Sweet place! The staff was super helpful in aiding me to pick up what I needed to get back in to knitting. Their yarn is pricey but super high quality and worth it for shopping local and supporting this awesome business. The garments they sell are also adorable and so cozy!

I found this location too difficult to access. On street parking is restricted in the South End, and/or very limited. Some of their yarn I purchased is incredibly soft high quality yarn. I didn't feel it was the right fit in terms of communication with employees and owner. It's hard to understand which demographic target they had in mind for this area. I couldn't get information on a yarn purchased.Updated response: If you are buying samples they are one of a kind. I learned this from the response below from owner. Also, they are listed as online in Newton but the photo is of their former location. Lastly, owners should expect that every customer has a right to be honest in their opinions. That is the purpose of reviews so customers can make choices and learn which is the best fit. No need for owners to contact us via email if they don't like the reviews. Google should allow a reply by customer option. Not fair to customer or readers. I love to knit not being micromanage as a customer. I imagine other customers feel this way.

Yes, I wholeheartedly recommend Kristen, the owner, and her entire Third Piece team. Why?????? They are a 2020 Success Story!!! When they had to close their doors to their South End dream store due to the COVID 19 Pandemic they jumped right into social media and began offering classes to all their followers and anyone who wanted to join. They did not leave us behind. If you are interested in learning about fibers and how to make sweaters, hats, mits, scarfs, pocketbooks, blankets, pillows, and beach coverups, etc. Wait No More. Follow and join them on Instagram and Facebook . You will be glad you did. They have offered all kinds of Classes from beginners to Knit alongs (KAL) and invited testers to review their designs. I have met other knitters on zoom media through the Geneva platform where we have seen pieces in the making to completed projects. So many knitters from several countries to all over the USA. You can even have a private group of friends and families gather on a zoom and learn together from the couches and chairs of your own homes. This was amazing during the Pandemic and they continue STRONG. It kept me and others connected when we had to quarantine ourselves from friends and families. I have made an unlimited amount of garments for myself and family. You learn about fibers and the beautiful garments you make are sustainable. In Addition to their adult style brand, they will be coming out shortly with the new Mini Me Collection soon to follow. You will find knitting, therapy. It is very relaxing and it allows you to divert from the everyday stresses to focusing on a piece of clothing or accessory that you are making. It is mindfulness and so enjoyable. It gives you great joy when you have completed a new garment for yourself or in fact better when you make it as a gift for a family member or friend. Such joy you receive and you can take this craft anywhere on the go. I recommend Third Piece to everyone. It is great for anyone and community groups, schools, and even corporate fashion companies Who want to teach their employees about fibers and how things are made. You can purchase the yarn, needles, patterns, and kits. Don’t forget to join their yearly membership discount plan. I give them an A++++. I hope everyone who follows them likes my review and all testers on the Geneva platform post their reviews too. @Third Piece

Lovely little yarn shop! They have mostly bulky yarns because of the climate here in Boston. That is not my norm but I found some worsted weight magenta to make a shawl! Very helpful and friendly staff. It was a great shop and I'm glad I made it by!

This place is amazing. Not only do they carry beautiful, high quality yarn and hand knit items, they have top notch customer service. Twice I have ordered yarn and both times had it in two days. Once it was shipped from Boston to Tampa. As an avid knitter, I am happy to support this wonderful small business!

The staff is so friendly, patient, and helpful. They have a terrific line of knitwear created by staff on site, and a wonderful, curated assortment of yarns and notions. And the classes have gotten me hooked on knitting.

What a special place! I visited with my sister and we both purchased the most beautiful scarfs. So comfortable, warm and pretty! Love how everything is handmade right here in the shop. All the staff working were friendly and helpful. We have already told numerous people about this wonderful place. Looking forward to coming back for myself and gifts for others!

What a gem in the South End! I have been in the store a countless number of times and have never been disappointed. The soft chunky and baby chunky yarn are by far the best Merino wool yarn that I have come across. Kristen and her team are courteous and professional. A great place!
