It's really nice that they try to accommodate early check-in and the hotel in general seems very clean, but for $400/night, you can hear every single thing happening out on the street (as if the windows were open) and the beds are old and extremely uncomfortable. Could have spent less and gotten about the same amount of sleep.

This hotel is not in the safest part of town especially when it gets dark. The rooms are extremely small, no place to sit except the bed! It was extremely noisy, with loud music blaring away til 2:00 a.m. for 2 of the 4 nights we stayed there. When we checked out today we were told that they had multiple complaints regarding the loud music and were planning on speaking to the restaurant manager of the restaurant around the corner. My question is why didn’t they immediately address the problem that they knew was going on? The front desk staff seemed to be aloof to guests entering the front desk area. We actually spent several minutes one afternoon waiting at the front desk with no one in sight! I would definitely not recommend this hotel nor would I stay there again.
Noteworthy details: Very noisy, good luck sleeping.

Great location for a visit to boston, midway between Back Bay and the North End, close to the Common. Convenient to the Freedom Trail and Beacon Hill. Luxury linens and friendly service. Exceptionally clean. We would definitely stay here again. Didn't use the gym,but we appreciated the bottled water and snacks in our room. Also, having a fridge in the room is a game changer.
I used the robe and slippers provided. I only wish there were more hooks for hanging the robe and towels! Only one towel bar didn't seem like enough. Also the partial shower door resulted in water on the floor every time we showered. We loved the motion-activated low blue lights that came on in the bathroom in the middle of the night. What a great idea!
We had a premium king with windows overlooking the street in front of the hotel. Always nice to have natural light.
The bar was always crowded, perhaps because they seem to give everyone free drink tickets when they arrive (wine and beer only). The coffee shop adjacent to the lobby is excellent but always had a line.
My other complaint is a lack of streaming apps. Only spotify and you tube were available. Would have been nice to have Amazon prime and Netflix so we could have had viewing options from our phones.
Overall, a great hotel.

I have nothing but good words for this hotel that I selected via Expedia. The staff is welcoming and many amenities are offered to us such as a drink (choice of wine or mocktail) or snacks which are replenished every day in the room. A candy bar was also sometimes available in the lobby, the atmosphere of which was also very pleasant. However, I did not try the George Howell café adjacent to the lobby.
Once again I want to highlight the very friendly staff, at the reception, at the bar, our maid Elona, as well as the doormen who greeted us each time we passed. I recommend this hotel!

**Absolutely loved our stay here, would stay again!** The only negative is that on Friday night, there was plenty of activity downtown and you could hear people partying into the wee hours. However, the comfort of the room, the absolutely stellar customer service (dropping off bags, checking in early, responding to email questions prior to check-in), the delicious coffee shop, in-room snacks, and seriously convenient location means I'd stay here again in a heartbeat (and just pack earplugs ;)).

Highly recommend hotel!
ARBON was the best!
Rooms: Modern and big!

Walkability: Easy access to the park and other attractions!

Service was great (even at midnight when I arrived). Rooms are ok, spacious, great showers! However AC is very complicated to control, bed was WAY to soft!
No hotel shop to buy quick sandwich if you arrive late at night.
Location is bit sketchy, a lot of homeless and strange people around.
Overall was good but for the price of 400$ a night… not really worth it.

This is an extremely outdated hotel with amenities and front desk service of a 2, maybe 3 star at best hotel with prices of a 5 star resort. I don’t mind paying for nice hotel. My nightly rate ranged from $750-490 before taxes and fees. And I did not mind paying that price a centrally located hotel. But expected decent rooms. I took my two daughters for a 4 day trip. Look closely at the pictures. There is no more than 2 feet of space between the beds and walls. We had no space to put our suitcases or unpack. The bath is extremely small with about 4 inches of counter space beyond the sink. The towels and bedding are low quality. The front desk was useless when it came to recommendations or guidance around the city. We spend a decent amount of time in the lobby each evening mainly because we did not want to sit in our cramped closet. The lobby is decent but extremely small for the number of rooms the hotel holds which meant we had to linger in hopes of getting a seat when someone got up to leave. The location is centrally located. But I would NOT recommend paying more than $250 a night to stay here given the extremely substandard accommodations.

Boutique hotel. Rooms are quite nice, but there is absolutely no view whatsoever. Not disappointed, but also not overly impressed.

Stayed for a night with my brother at the Godfrey recently, and it was a decent stay overall. The room was clean and spacious, and the fun amenities are a nice touch (though I’d rather skip the $40 fee than have them). The welcome desk cider and doughnuts was a nice touch, and the coffee shop that is attached is a good one. The biggest complaint I had was the bed. I’m all for no box springs, but then you have to have a mattress with some support…these had none. You just SINK into these beds…not good. There also was quite a bit of morning elevator congestion. Overall, the location was quite decent and pretty central, and the staff was helpful albeit not overly so. I’d consider staying here again but likely try elsewhere.
Rooms: Spacious, decently appointed, TERRIBLE mattresses. Bathroom was nice with decent bath products. Room was clean.
Walkability: Very walkable to many parts of the city. Also accessible to several T stops.
Food and drinks: Coffee bar attached (very good) and bar in lobby (too small, not much to write home about here…pretty basic).
