My particular room was not good. No view and the closet door wouldn't open because it was too close to the bed. Front desk staff didn't appear to care at all that the restaurant and bar was closed for two night. That said, most other rooms looked much nicer than mine and the valet staff was very courteous and professional. Location is has good proximity to Back Bay and South End restaurants and bars and Prudential Center across the street. Twenty min walk to The Common and 45 to the North End.

It is a nice hotel and I stay there from time to time, but almost each time have a problem with communications. Some of the staff are great, but some are quite dismissive to the guests concerns.

This hotel is in a great location with a train line that was very easy to navigate. I am only giving 4 stars because we had a few minor issues with our stay that hotel management addressed for us after the fact. I appreciate the follow up I received from them so would recommend this hotel.

I’m shocked at the number of positive reviews. Seems like written by people who did not actually stay here. The hotel is in an excellent location, but its condition leaves a lot to be desired. It appears straight out of the 1980s and likely has not been renovated since then. The air conditioners are noisy wall units and the hallways are dim with many Non-functioning lights. Good night there is no room service in the evening which is a minor point but for a bill that totals more than $1100 in two nights I would’ve expected more.

Rooms: Clean big comfortable rooms and beds.
Food and drinks: The restaurant does not have convenient hours. But overall great hotel.

Clean and comfortable room, great view of the Back Bay area of downtown, and the front desk staff in particular was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is right across the street from the “Prudential” metro stop.

There is NOT enough sound insulation in the rooms. Could hear my loud neighbors all night, got little sleep. Location is great though.

The hotel is located in a commercial area full of large and prestigious hotels. The Common Park can be reached in a pleasant 25 minute walk. The hall is very beautiful with a view of the lounge and the bar. The room was also spacious and very bright. Bathroom a little small given the standard of the hotel. High cost but adequate for Boston's offerings. Very convenient hotel garage at the usual crazy prices of big American cities

We chose the Colonnade because of its vicinity to all things we wanted to see and do close to Back Bay. The hotel is luxurious and what you would expect for the price you pay. We arrived after midnight due to flight delays, but had no problem with check-in. The room was clean and as-described. Beds were comfortable. We were on the 6th floor and never heard any noises from neighbors. The shower had a lot of water pressure which was great, but the toilet would barely flush. Not a huge deal, we didn't even complain. We were able to walk to a lot of places, which was convenient especially given that Uber prices seem to fluctuate quickly due to demand. Only downside to our stay was that the in-house restaurant and bar closed on Sundays and Mondays...which was a surprise to us. I've never stayed at a high-end hotel in a busy area that closed its restaurant/bar before, especially for two days out of the week. After a long day of touring we wanted to come back for a drink/snack at the bar and to let the kids relax before dinner. We were unable to do this, which was a little disappointing. Overall, I would stay at this hotel again if returning to Boston.

Spotlessly clean, Centrally located, extremely helpful staff.
Walkability: Train station entrance just a few hundred feet from the Hotel.
Noteworthy details: Located directly across from the Prudential Centre.

Gorgeous hotel with modern amenities and a respect for the history of the area. Beautiful, clean, quiet, great bar! Only downside was the rooftop pool service and bar was severely lacking.

Tired hotel with tired rooms, snobbish staff with lots of attitude. And there’s a $30 facilities fee they charge on top of the rate. Great location but not worth the price.
