Two months to get an appointment with your PCP. Absolutely ridiculous. I’ve been In pain for years and they do nothing

Going here all my life but now when I call to set up an appointment I can't be seen because I'm not a patient anymore because I have not had time to make a visit in a few years. Ridiculously rude staff on the phone.

I have been coming here since I was 6. I use to love coming here as a child. When I got older, I developed severe stomach pain that would come and go. i came here several times, each time being told its GERD and my anxiety was making it worse. One night I woke up in excruciating pain. I called in. They sent me a script……to South Boston…..Virginia! When I asked them to fix it they just ignored my message. Even tho I had disclosed my family history of gallstones to multiple doctors not one referred me to a specialist. I continued to suffer with gallstone attacks, choosing to suffer in silence rather than wasting a copay coming here to be told my pain will go away if i just take more Prilosec or antacids and go to therapy for my severe anxiety that was making my pain worse. Fast-forward to a couple months ago. I was in incredible pain for days that would not go away. Even drinking water made my stomach burn. I ended up in the ER. I had acute appendicitis from a gallstone that got stuck and i also had an innumerable amount of stones and my gallbladder would have to be removed. I spent almost a week in the hospital. If any of the doctors I had seen at this facility didn't just disregard everything i said, disregard the severe pain I was in maybe I wouldn't have needed to suffer as long as i did. Maybe I wouldn't have the huge hospital bill I'm now stuck with. This health center is great for routine visits, but the second you are in excruciating pain they will do everything to gaslight you. I also asked to be evaluated for PCOS due to having multiple symptoms. “But your excessive hair could just be genetics….but i guess we can refer you to endocrinology”. And yup diagnosed with PCOS by endocrinology. I also had a benign tumor in my knee that one doctor told me was just a cyst and if was causing me so much discomfort she could just remove it right then and there. These doctors need to listen to their patients more. Maybe hospital admin should lessen each doctors case load to make them more human. They all seem like they are just in a rush to get your visit over with and move on to their next victim.

My experience with my doctors and nurses and all the staff at South Boston Community Health Center has been life changing - Very positive!!!I used to belong to the major health center in Boston. It grew too big and patients like me became invisible. I switched to SBCHC about 3 years ago. I always have quick responses from the staff when I have questions regarding my health or any insurance or billing issue. As a man who check the "YES" box if asked if I belonged to a minority group, I find the health center very welcoming. I am very glad to have found all my care under one roof. I am relieved to have found you after years of a decline in care from the former major health center in the Fenway area of Boston.Great job SBCHC! Thank you!

Worst service. The doctor never call back to share the test results or talk with the patient for medical problems. My father is out of medication and we're calling the office and they just say live your message and we're call you back and never happened. The worst service in the world. Shame on you who pretend to take care of people but just treat people like trash. I hope the state of Massachusetts will accept the complains and close this for good

We are an elderly couple who have been patients at the SBCHC clinic for many years. We express our gratitude and respect to all the staff of the clinic.Due to our health condition, we have contacted several doctors of the clinic and their support staff, but especially more often we have contacted Dr. Saxena, to whom we want to convey our gratitude and respect.Dr. Saxena stands out for correctness and creating a warm and very communicative doctor-patient environment. The doctor listens very attentively and calmly to everything you tell him. In all cases, the diagnosis of the problems we had was correct and with his medicines and advice we found solutions to all problems.Simplicity in communication, diagnosis, and continuous patient condition monitoring make this doctor stand out from the rest. Thanks and acknowledgments Dr. Saxena. With much respect,Drita and Lirim Cuci.

I have been a patient of SBHMC for several years. My health condition has made me visit this health center often. The best evaluations for the medical and administrative staff and especially for the Application Counselor office where Mrs. Violeta Koci. I think that this lady has rare friends in her work, for the courtesy, the clear and precise advice she gives for the problems I have had, giving a solution to the problem in a short time. Since I had to go to this office often, I have found that Mrs. V. Koci, as I said above, communicates and behaves with all the patients who come to her office.Respect and gratitude, Mrs. Violeta Koci.

Dr. Chiakpo is seriously the best! She cares deeply for her patients. I'm so lucky to have her as my doctor. I trust her to the fullest with my health (I'm normally skeptical of some providers and have had not so great experiences). She is amazing and listens to what you have to say.

This health center is truly THE WORST. The staff is not friendly, the providers rarely ever follow up on time for prescription refills and their in clinic pharmacy is entirely useless. They must have some kind of communication issue internally because far too often do they have you running back and forth between departments claiming the other department didn’t do their job. I don’t know who is running this clinic, but they’re running it into the ground.

When I called I waiting on hold for 30 minutes. Then then the operator finally answered she said they had an appointment for today and asked if I was a new patient. When I said yes she said okay and that I’d just have to register with the registration. She proceeded to reroute me to the main call line so I had to wait another 10 minutes before she correctly routed me to the registration line. When I got to the registration line they told me they were booked out for a month even though I told them I needed an appointment today and was told they had availability. Apparently to be seen for urgent care you have to already be a patient which really contradicts the idea of urgent care. I wasted 45 minutes and got no where.

Dr Pitoniak is a godsend. Truly an incredible provider. You’re in amazing hands here. I’m a physician myself and couldn’t even compare my skill sets to the incredible level of care that was provided.

The people here are mostly very nice. We loved our NP. But the the way the practice is set up is absolutely awful! You can never speak to your primary. Ever!! You’re basically sending emails back and forth several times between you and their staff before you can get any answers and even then the answer is usually for you to come in. It’s not time efficient whatsoever!! If you want good care for your child and answers when you need them by actually speaking with your doctor, this is not the place for you.

It was my first visit to this clinic. Wasn't impressed to have to wait 40 minutes past my scheduled time to see the primary care physician, however; I would be remiss if i didn't mention that there WAS an a medical emergency on premise, & a person had to be removed via EMS tech.s on a stretcher. The screening interns were efficient. The Dr. did listen patiently as i submitted a verbally detailed back ground regarding my past medical history, & did answer pertinent questions. She only listened to my lungs & heart, & was surprised that she didn't check my reflexes. The phylobotomist was really professional & very good at not making me jump when she withdrew my blood sample. Overall i would recommend this clinic. They accept Mass Health Insurance :)

I am extremely unhappy with the service at South Boston community health Center! The FRONT DESK girl is absolutely UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE ! She would not set an appointment up for my aunt who had recently had a stroke and was advised from the emergency department, that she should follow up with a primary care! We are talking about A PATIENT THAT JUST SUFFERED A STROKE AND THE FRONT DESK WOULD NOT SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR MY AUNT!Can they be more unprofessional than this?
