As a veteran, of which I've done both civilian and VA programs and shelters and resources. The Shattuck homeless shelter for men; located bottom of the campus before the driveway where the security booth is, with a wooden fence alongside the right side of the building. Being also categorized as a low-based program and shelter, it's within my top 2 program/shelter resources where I've accomplished everything I needed vs wanted, however doing the same with what I wanted as well. I've done more in the 10 months I was there than most of the other resources combined. And with being low-based meaning working on your housing and/or schooling for example as your top priority. It's done on your time and availability. Whether or not you work, Case management more than does and pulls their weight on their end, and will check on you a couple times a week to see if you're alright. Or if things are decent enough. But if you aren't feeling up to paperwork that day or you're actually truly busy. The CM doesn't chase and hunt and hound you about getting the paperwork done and getting to appointments on time. It's when you can as you can do your part and end of the work on your time. That's how things get handled. It's a low restrictions and guidelines resource program/shelter. Now some individuals need more restrictions, but for those who've tried more authority like treatment and resources and results just don't seem to last or satisfies you. Then I highly recommend trying at least just this one low-based program/shelter being the Shattuck shelter for men
