This petco is now the site of an event that will go down in history as one of the wildest customer service interactions I've ever had. I stopped in this afternoon to grab a few cat toys and treats. The store itself was a little disorganized which isn't a big deal, but it did make checkout a little confusing. We waited for quite a while for the sales associate to finish a conversion with the person in front of us, but again, not a big deal. They seemed a little understaffed, so it happens. But the interaction took a turn for the bizarre when we finally got up to the sales associate, an older woman with pinkish-purple hair and, at first glance, a fun, whimsical vibe. Sadly, the interaction that would follow was anything but. While I unloaded my basket, she asked if I had a phone number with petco. I only stop in once every blue moon, so I don't. She then asked for my name and number to sign me up for a membership. I politely declined, which wound up being entirely the wrong answer. This associate acted like I'd called her mother a slur. Her tone became outright aggressive as she insisted that I was making a mistake, as I was losing the chance to save money AND I would have to bring a receipt if I wanted to make a return (you know, how returns usually work). I again politely declined, which seemed roughly equivalent to backhand slapping this woman in the face based on her reaction. She repeated the same spiel about saving money and receipts again, and when I again declined, she became extremely agitated. She snapped at me for setting my basket in the wrong spot, saying I was going to trip someone. When I apologized and moved it, she scoffed at me like I was the world's biggest idiot. All the while, as she scanned items, she slammed them down on the counter without asking if I needed a bag. A friend I was with then nicely asked if we could get a bag, to which the sales associate wheeled on her and snapped, "You can have a bag _if you request one_." We then requested a bag. Wrong move. She all but threw it at me, and I had to try and scramble to pack up my items just to get the hell out there before she elected to behead me and leave my skull on a spike as a warning to others about the consequences of refusing to join the petco rewards program. The whole time, I was feeling my fight or flight response bubbling up, which is a deeply weird sensation to experience at a Boston Petco on a Saturday afternoon. Ultimately, after frantically packing the bag with my items, my friends and I left in a state of shock. It was genuinely one of the most bizarrely rude and aggressive interactions I've had in my entire life. Don't get me wrong, I worked retail for years and know customers can be a lot, but literally all I did was not want to sign up for a membership. It seems there's less customer service and more customer hostility to be found at this petco. 0/5 do not recommend.

I took my new 6 month old puppy for grooming at this location. She receives all her shots here and previous service as well. This time around was different. While waiting almost 4 hours. The manager Brianna was on her phone half of the time. Upon entering no professionalism. Did not greet me or the customers after me. However, the other two stylist remained professional. Brianna however, was so aggressive with the puppy. I literally had to go inside as I was beyond livid and address her. The other employees were shaking their heads in disbelief of her behavior and whispering sorry to me. They didn't want to address her as she was there manager. I did not allow her to finish the grooming and took my puppy as she was traumatized at this point. I requested after still paying for my services to speak with Stephanie who is her manager as I was advised. Stephanie immediately asked if I paid for the service. I advised her it was not about money. It was about the aggression in the department with the puppies who someone they trust to treat our animal family like family. Based on the other stylist this seems to be Brianna's daily attitude within Petco. This is a serious matter and advised Stephanie to run back the camera in the room as this was beyond unacceptable. She seemed to be listening however to nonchalant as if this was not the first complaint from Brianna. I will reach out to corporate as this employee needs better training or a different profession if treating animals with respect and customers is a priority when in service.

I took my cat for nail trimmingI had placed clean towel in the carrying box,l handed over the box ,my cat sitting nervous in the box to the guy who trims the nailIn ten minutes, he's all set to goSo paid the bill with tipsI came home with my cat opened up the box to let my cat outI see this guy, who trimmed his nails had dumped my cat in the pooped box, this person doesn't have any love for animals l guess, other wise he wouldn't dump my cat in the poopNow l don't do any hair trimming for my catLast time while trimming his hair they chopped of his skinHe was bleeding,it took 5 to 6 months to heal, l had spent so much money, took him to a cat clinic,People working with animals should have love for animalsAt the time of dropping up ur pet ,oh so sweet gesture from staff who takes the pet insideI wonder what happens inside the closed door with pet.Karma will come back

Been a regular. Walking into the store around 8:40pm, grabbed a product and walked to the checkout area to ask the staff if they have something similar. This dude said “I wouldn’t know, you gonna find it yourself. But you better hurry up cuz we are closing in 9 minutes.” Thought it’s funny, you’re the staff, of course you should find out or at least refer me to other staff or just say it’s all there, if it’s not on the shelf we probably don’t have it. But hey we all have rough day and it’s late, don’t take it personal.Went to get some can food, didn’t see the one I’m looking for, asked another staff, she thought about it and kindly responded they don’t have the brand.Walked to checkout, the same dude tried to make fun with the lady in front of me, turned porker face to me when it’s my turn. After the transaction went through, he turned to chat with the other staff and handed the receipt backwards without turning back to me. Very rude.

I have been a loyal customer for the past several months. I booked an appointment in advance for grooming my dog, just a bath at the short hair rate. I have always gotten the short hair rate. I happened to notice when I got back home from this last appointment that the total increased by almost $10 because somehow my appointment was changed to a long hair rate. My dog’s hair has not changed in length since I’ve been taking him to get groomed. I left a voicemail with the store asking to speak to someone about this discrepancy, no one has gotten back to me. Stylist Selena M. Is a thief and should be avoided at all costs.

I hate leaving bad reviews….. But it was like I was dealing with a game boss trying to buy a couple fish. Iv had the same setup for a few years now and the fact I got dismissed quickly after saying what size tank and what fish I wanted which where fish that was perfectly fine for my size tank. I did originally ask about a fish that i wasnt sure about and thats what started his quick remarks and finally huffs and puffs and silent treatment. Then Got into a back and forth and seeked a manager who then also took the employees side and refused to sell them. Very odd experience never had this happen at any othe location.
