I rented a car from national the thanksgiving week at the Boston Logan airport location and again was disgusted with the price and service. I am a long time executive level renter of National through my company and once was very satisfied with their price and service, but over the past few years the Boston Logan airport location National has price gouged me and has had offered a low quality selection of vehicles to choose from. This last time was even worse, I perused the emerald executive aisle, there were several vehicles that smelled of smoke, several vehicles with side swipe scrapes and several vehicles that had gashes in the tires, even one with a bubble do big in the tire that it would be unsafe to drive. The selection was so bad I ended up with a low grade Kia which I'm still wondering why that was considered. To be an executive level vehicle. Strike 1. Upon leaving the lot, the attendant gave me the price of my rental and it was over $120 more than I was quoted, she lot it seemed high too but said it was probably due to airport fees. I reluctantly said ok, but my reservation was at that airport so the fees should have been included. Strike 2. I won't get into what the vehicle was like during the less than 5 days I rented it, let's just say it was not the best experience. Upon return of the vehicle, I was hit even with a higher rate , charged $870 for less than 5 days, the attendant said that seemed way high and he will send me a email to contest the exorbitant price. I got the email and contested and have had no response at all from National, Strike 3, they're out. Even though my company has dropped National as their preferred carrier, I was still using them based on past good service, but now I see no reason to continue to use them seeing that they have let me down several times and don't even respond to their customers via email or in person. I am now willing to drop my executive status and my free days I have accrued, just to be done with them and I hope you do too.

Even though the car inventory was low on the day after Thanksgiving, the national car rental agent worked to get us a very nice suv within a few minutes of our arrival. We were very happy with our experience at Boston. We have been using National and the Emerald Aisle for over 20 years. Very satisfied customers.

Hands down the best service I have ever received at National was on 11/6 and 11/10 at the Shreveport airport location. I don't recall the gentleman's name but he was, not only professional but courteous and very nice. I will be back December 11th and I hope that he is working that day so I can get his name. I just know it wasn't a very common name. The car was an Audi A6 and I hope I get that car again. It was hands down the nicest car I have ever rented. I will always choose National as my primary rental company as they have been the easiest to rent from and prices are very reasonable.

Poor experience this morning. This picture is not a team meeting but a sync talking about personal life (fishing, etc.)Then, on top of that the way they look at customers to profile them. I literally watched them for 40 mins talking about nothing. The team does not care about the customers. They don't greet you and/or treat you like executive members unless you have suits and ties. Executive elite members have on all different clothing, but that's not the feeling I felt at all. ?I have been with national for over 3 years now. By far, Boston National will be the last place to recommend renting a car. Cars are dirty. Limited availability of cars. All basic cars on executive lines (not good) and contractors who clean the cars are not thorough.I will be doing an overall survey on national and the few individuals who did not have great customer service.You all have been WARNED ⚠️.

We rented two minivans and a car seat from National at Boston Logan Airport. The checkout and return processes were efficient and quick. We added multiple drivers to the rental with ease. The vehicles came with toll tags which are necessary in that area. This was the first time I had driven a hybrid vehicle and the fuel efficiency was amazing! I’m likely to buy hybrids in the future.

Rented from National at Logan. I got the car I expected, no lines, no waiting. The car was in great order and everything went smoothly. My comment here is how great the staff was at Logan - if you have been in the rental area, in the fall, the place is crazy, cars everywhere, yet several of the staff both coming and going, went out of their way to say hi, to offer advise, to make a quick joke - it was great. They had to be under tremendous time pressure to turn those cars, but they were all still focused on customer service. Way to go Boston!

Most excellent vehicle in great condition. Pick up process was slightly delayed due to lack of cars (20 minutes or so). Return was awesome as I had filled the car up just prior to return and the representative noticed that I had pre purchase fuel option in my profile and credited the amount to my bill. You have to appreciate that kind of honesty and customer support.

You simply cannot beat National Car Rentals, best cars, easy check out, and a great value. Since I travel for a living getting great service is critical. Price, quality all matter but it's always the service, a cheap price but a poor quality car, no thank you! National has never let me down.

Had a girls getaway weekend during which we needed to rent a minivan. National was fantastic - we got the car which was in perfect condition and completely as described. Desk help was friendly and warm, got us set up. National maintains "hosts" who direct you to your car and they were also polite and friendly and efficient. We ran into a problem at then end of our trip. Returned the car and had not been told about an overage fee by anyone neither the desk originally nor the man who took the car when we dropped it off, so imagine how surprised I was to get an additional bill for $333 which was over half of our 4 day stay! Here's the good news - I called customer service and got Belinda on the line. She was kind, empathetic, wanted to hear the whole story and took it under advisement to reach out to her superiors. Still wanting for the result (hoping for at least a price adjustment for the additional fee) but I was moved to write a review because customer service is so spotty these days and Belinda made my day! She listened. She showed a sense of humor. She was empathetic and efficient. Hopefully, we will get the result we hope for but good customer services wins for this reviewer! Choose National.

I had a very nice suv when I came down to get my car after the airport took a bus like 6 stops got off went inside had to wait 20 mins no one was there but the other ppl next to them helped me fast. And went to get my car took a video and took pics just in case anything comes back the car was clean and just had a car wash had no problems took it back was a little hard to get in the lot dumb gps on my phone. Then called my hotel they came picked me up had no problems if anything does pop up inwill definitely change the but so far so good 10-1-23

Unfortunately, first time ever giving a negative review to National. The staff at the branch we’re all initially ver y helpful, however the after care was less than desirable.Issue:After pulling away from the exit booth, I pulled in traffic in a horrific down pour. After being on the road sitting in traffic, I realized the employee in the booth did not return my driver’s license to me. I pulled over and called the number on my contract to let them know the situation and that I didn’t have time to turnaround to retrieve it. Unfortunately, the number went to the national hotline. I spoke to the customer service rep and explained my situation and asked for a direct line to the branch. She refused to give it to me and said she would send a message to the branch with the details and have them call me. They never called. After arriving to my destination, I called again and same outcome. The following morning, still no call so I tried again. Finally 4 hours later, someone from the branch returned my call. I explained the situation and told her that I would be dropping my car off in two days and if they could please locate it and have available for me at time of return. Her best resolution was for me to report it as a lost item on their web page. I did. After returning the vehicle, I requested to speak with a manager so they could retrieve my license before I had to board a plane. He left and returned 5 minutes later with no driver’s license. He stated that they have 3 separate lost and found locations at the airport and didn’t have time to check the other two. Two days later, received an email stating that my lost item was not found. Even though I know 100% that it was left in the booth. Now I have the stress of worrying if one of their staff may do something with the license. Very disappointed with the entire process and lack of urgency from the staff within the Boston/Logan airport branch.

Traveled to Boston on business and had a typically excellent experience with National Car Rental! Emerald membership makes exiting the airport a dream. In this case, I signed up for a sedan in error (I'm more comfortable in an SUV), and the attendant in the garage steered me quickly to a small SUV that was clean and an excellent drive. AC in the seats was a bonus! Return was easy (and for those returning for the 1st time in Boston, know that you can take the rental car return road and right before you get to the garage, you can make a pitstop at a Shell station right there to gas up). And the staff is always helpful and efficient. Highly recommend National!

National was first introduced to my wife while she was traveling for The Home Depot. That was several years ago. Wherever we travel by air we only use National with a rental in the executive aisle. We walk up to the car we want and drive out and it's as simple as that. They are always clean, smell clean and drop offs are just as simple. Personnel on duty at pick up and drop off are always very courteous and helpful. We love National!

Terrible location.They don’t have enough people working to clean the cars so there’s a line at the garage.I make about 75-100 car rentals a year and don’t even run into this issue in small airports after a hurricane It’s a little weird to happen here. I think Boston is a major city and BOS is a major hub.I could be mistaken. Can someone from national clarify?Also, whatever money national is saving by not putting enough cleaners on the schedule, should be immediately redistributed to the poor garage staff who managed to be overly friendly and apologetic and communicative about it all. Not one person was mad. And that’s quite the feat.Those guys did great. Give them more money. Because National doesn’t deserve to be making money on this location at this point.
