Monica's Mercato is a popular Italian market and sandwich shop in Boston, offering a wide selection of imported Italian meats, cheeses, wines, homemade pastas, breads, and prepared foods. Known for its authentic Italian sub sandwiches, the store has been serving customers since 1995, opening early and staying open late to meet demand. While the sandwiches are highly praised for their quality, freshness, and delicious taste, customers often experience long wait times, especially if ordering in person, with online orders being the fastest option. The shop is mainly for takeout, as there are no seating areas available. The atmosphere features Italian heritage decorations, adding to the authentic experience. Prices tend to be high, with most menu items costing between $15 and $20, and payments are cashless. Overall, Monica's Mercato is valued for its excellent sandwiches and quality ingredients, making it a go-to spot for a quick, tasty meal.
Excellent sandwiches, but a long wait time if ordering in store. The trick is to order online and pick up. Also be advised there are not tables to eat at. Everything is " to go". There's not a lot of public areas in the near vicinity either, to sit down at. But tbe sandwiches are actually excellent, so well worth 4 stars

Their Italian and caprese were amazing! Unfortunately the chicken in our pesto sandwich was dry and overcooked. Overall, I’d highly recommend going!

Line was just outside the door but took about 45 minutes to get through. Online orders are prioritized and seem to be the way to go. Bread and meat were fresh.
