Awful experience when applying for a car loan. Told me I was approved for the loan but gave 0 information regarding the details when asked. Told me I needed to open a savings account as well, but somehow wasn’t approved for that. The savings account should be a pre requisite to applying for an auto loan, not the final step. Went to a better bank and everything was handled smoothly.

The only problem that occurred was a 25 minute wait on the telephone to reach a representative. Once a representative answered she was excellent. She handled my problem in a quick and efficient way. She was very nice. I don't hold the time wait against her because it has been almost impossible to reach a rep from the T for a very long time. It's a management problem. I thank the rep for her help and assistance.

I wouldn't recommend using this company even if they come in with a lower rate as it won't be worth the headaches. They don't have the option for loan assumption and this can be a huge deal with life's events and the constant volatility of interest rates.

If you would like to sit on hold for an hour or more any time you call to ask a simple question, than this is the bank for you. They gave me a debit card and told me I had to call a separate number to activate the pin and when I did, a robot told me that my debit card was invalid. When I tried to call the bank to ask about it, I sat on hold for 2 HOURS... I started doing chores and carrying my phone around with me, hoping someone would answer. I left a callback number and no one ever called me back. Did this for days. Instead of getting my card situation fixed, I'm switching banks. DO NOT BANK HERE. It's been years of issues like this. Not worth it.

I worked with Sonya Paquin for the loan of my car and I don’t have all the words to describe how helpful and how nice she is. I called her a few time and she has been super responsive and really helpful explaining me all the steps I had to make. She is definitely one of the best employees Mass Bay ever had. Thank you very much Sonya.

Don't do it. There are so many local credit unions you can use that are so, so much better than MBCU. Customer service is non-existent and their online banking is not good.

I applied to Mass Bay Credit Union get a HELOC on my primary house. After almost three months, right before we could close the HELOC, I was told that I needed to pull my house out of my trust! I established the trust to protect my assets! There is no way that I would move my house out of the trust. I should've informed about it before I proceeded with the application by the loan officer.I lost valuable time to get a HELOC with a reasonable low rate. I would not recommend this credit union!

I had an account at this bank 147 W Fourth St, South Boston 5 6 years ago I closed the account because they did not offer credit cards I continued to use the bank because it is very close to my house the service of the Teller was always very good but they had 2 new latin teller very unprofessional I was more than an hour and I could not deposit the money very poor customer service they need more training.

I recently did a loan at Mass Bay Credit Union. Sonya Barros went above and beyond patiently explaining the process from beginning to end. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for great service and a great deal.

Almost two years ago I had a checking and savings account until the bank allow oops. I told the bank I didn't want oops because I knew if I went over they would keep taking money until I own. Now all the money I saved in my savings is gone. Now I can't pay for my medical supplies.
