I had an experience with L’Occitane that I would like to share in this review . I have been ordering from this company for 15 years. I send gifts to people and I buy things for myself. I used to go to a local store in Rhode Island but that store closed so I was approached by the incredible sales staff at the Prudential location in Boston. I have been ordering directly through them and the staff is amazing! I have dealt with Victoria, Zachary, Jen, and Steven. Recently when they had their most recent sale I wanted to get a product that they did not have in the store so I made the very poor decision of ordering through the one 800 number. I ordered about $180 worth of products because of the sale and it was a little splurge for me. Upon check out I noticed that one of the addresses that I’ve sent gifts to it defaulted to so I changed that and I thought it was all set. Today I received a text from a friend of mine in Italy and she told me that she had gotten this big package from me and she wanted to know if it was a mistake. I told her it was that It was supposed to come to me and I called L’Occitane to see if they would pick it up and resend it to me and I would pay for the shipping. They told me there was absolutely nothing they could do for me that it was my problem and I had to figure it out. I decided to call the Boston Prudential store and I had the tremendous good fortune to have Zachary answer the telephone. He actually remembered me from prior orders and conversations because he also was from Rhode Island! Within five minutes Zachary turned it into one of the most beautiful experiences by resending to me the package again free of charge and letting my friend keep the original package! There is so much kindness, and thoughtfulness that exists in that little network of people in that store they have found a lifelong customer in me and I will recommend them to everyone that is looking for these products. Please give a pat on the back to Zachary because he is an exceptional employee! Best wishes, Pat

I went to buy a specific cologne for men. Staff was very friendly and helpful. You won't find this line in department stores.

My armpits were banging with funky stench after I roughed up some punks who were acting like jive turkeys. They were lighting paper lunch bags full of hipster dog p*** on fire and watching the suckas stomp them out with their pointy Aldo shoes. Hysterical, I know, but I had to ugly them up. So, because I was ripe with nasty body odor, I swung into my favorite store of all time. The place I love. The place I dream about. Viva la L'Occitane le bon bon Paris et Champagne, je nes pa! I walked in with a huge list of soaps, shave creams, shampoo and a new travel soap tin with my big trips to Detroit on my mind. I was jonesing for some Shea Butter lavender 3.5 ounce soaps to make my day! "Excuse me Sir, to shop here you must put on your obedience mask." "But, you sweet honey buns and righteous stone fox, why? There's no mask mandate here, the doors are wide open, you obviously don't care about the climate because you just waste energy like you're Mr. Monopoly, you have a mask on, I'm vaccinated and I had Covid when I was in China cleaning the clocks of those pirates because of what they did. And you want me to wear a mask in order to buy this overpriced boiled fat?" "Oui." "Makes no sense snow bunny." "To me it does!" I said, "So then, why is your store empty?" The cosmopolitan hottie in Crocs and a Superdry sweatsuit said, "Because people are safe here!" "No, you Frenchie Bozo, it's because your ridiculous policy makes no one want want to be your customer now!" "Bon ci bon, Viva la France, you L'Americains are so ignorant, no wonder why we French don't really even like you people." "Are you even French?" "Non, or nil." "I pity da fools who come here now, nineteen dollar boiled fat, my derrière!"

I have passed by this store so many times over the years but never went in. I was so glad I did. Not only do they take ANY old bottles, containers from other beauty companies to recycle but you get 10% off anything in the store. Now that is the way to do business. The various items they have tend to be scented so if you prefer things that aren't this may not be the best since that's limited. It is a bit pricier than what you may find in other stores so need to determine what works w/ in your budget too. The various types of hand creams w. various % of shea butter is not like anything I have seen. This place is serious about providing you w/ products that work best for you, which you can also test out to make sure it is what you want, Not only that, but the people working there are super friendly & helpful so you can navigate the many products & not be overwhelmed.

I went to California Pizza Kitchen next door which is an overpriced place that wouldn't know pizza from a slab of dough. Pushy service too. A hustle atmosphere. Not relaxing at all.

I have been a fan of their products for many years, going back to the original store down on Newbury Street. This store in the Pru, is generally well stocked and run, although full disclosure, my visits are far between because I don't visit the area often and also the products while excellent quality are on the higher end of the price scale. My mum loves their moisturizer and was truly crushed when they discontinued their olive oil line. The soap she uses from another store/high end line has been discontinued so I thought for Valentine's Day I would see about the Ultra sensitive shea butter facial soap for her to try out. They did have it, but as a single, online was a better deal for three/but then there is the charge for shipping, unless you spend a certain amount, etc. And I like to support brick and mortar. I also bought my mum a hand cream because she still misses a limited hibiscus they did several years ago, and they held it while I took a look around. The travel samples are also a bit pricey but also a nice way to try a new product, I bought a mini-peony face cream for my mum as well and a lip balm for myself -- while high end is also very excellent for these extra cold and windy winter days. There was no up-spell spiel on the Valentine's specials, but also they did not ask if I was in the rewards program/and I flaked because I was popping en route somewhere else. Also would have been nice if they gave me smaller bag and some tissue. While I was there, a girl came into return a hand cream, one of the two employees had to be called over because it was a cash return, but I think the customer had the receipt and it was in the time frame, because there did not seem to be a problem. She was refunded promptly left and they they rang me up. To note, their shea butter hand cream is lovely and one year visiting DC I brought home the cherry blossom scent for gifts--the scents here are strong but the unscented shea is excellent. The lavender hand cream is also excellent quality and between the lavender/shea hand cream as gifts--I have converted a few friends.
