When buying engagement rings, do your research. Diamond prices are complicated, and if you leave all your trust in a salesman, they can turn your head around and convince you to pay more than you want to. When I went into Kebadjian's, I played d*** to see how honest they would be, and they tried to get me to buy a diamond that was, frankly, bad. Of all the jewelers I met with, Mike was the ultimate salesman that made me feel like a buddy, but he was not someone that I trusted by the end of our meeting. As any jeweler will do, Mike showed me a few different diamonds in my price range. But the largest one, by a very noticeable degree, was one that he called "SI-3" on the Clarity scale. Mike combined this information by reminding me a dozen times that he was one of the first in town to get a GIA certification - trying to boost my trust in him, and confuse the fact that his GIA certification would mean the diamond itself would be GIA certified. (For the uninitiated, if you want to have any trust that your diamond is actually worth what you paid for it, you need to receive a third party certificate from GIA or another reputable lab, or to be a gemologist yourself.) Well, spend 2 minutes on Google, and you'll find that "SI-3" doesn't exist on the GIA rating system. Which means he either would not send it for GIA certification, or that when he did, that would come back as an I-1 or even I-2, not as "SI-3." Those are the bottom of the barrel for clarity, which means the flaws in the diamond are visible to the naked eye. Who wants to pay $10K+ for a diamond any Joe Schmo could tell is bad? His personal GIA credentials had no bearing on making that bad diamond into a good one. Even though the other diamonds he showed me were just fine, I was so turned off he would try this SI-3 move that I walked away. No other jeweler in my shopping showed me an SI-3 diamond. As other reviewers noted, their business is by referral only. My personal opinion is this was just another salesman move in building trust. After all, you already know someone who bought here, so why shouldn't they be trusted? But even putting aside the SI-3 garbage, sitting with Mike for a while completely eroded my trust. He showed me his personal computer and walked me through everyone's engagement ring he had recently worked on, including people I know. There was no anonymity - names were all over the files. Which made me realize that anyone I referred after me would see all the details of my purchase, and maybe even figure out what I paid. While Mike was very friendly and made it seem like he was giving me an "inside scoop" on how his business worked, I just felt like I'd violated other people's trust. I'm not saying everything is bad at Kebadjian's - the jewelry looked great. But be warned that there are salesman moves going on here that might not be in your best interest.

My fiance purchased my engagement ring at Kebadjian's and it is absolutely beautiful. It is truly unique and I am so happy with what Michael created for me. The Kebadjian family took time and care to create a final product that is truly perfect. I'll be purchasing an engagement ring for my fiance there this month, and we will use them for our wedding bands. Really a wonderful experience.

Gemstone genius and visionary! The Kebadjian's created the most breathtaking engagement ring with my fiancé that is truly a masterpiece. While visiting their showroom for sizing, which they accommodated extremely quickly, Mike showed me renderings of pieces and the thought process and care they take to achieve the final product. The passion and vigor they put into each piece is palpable. Thank you endlessly for a ring that I will wear for a lifetime and treasure!

Best Jeweler in Boston! The team at Kebadjian's are true artisans who use metal, gems, diamonds and years of hard earned experience to develop one of a kind custom pieces for their clients. Mike and his family make sure that the process of finding a gift for your loved one is more than an exchange of money for goods. They design to suit the needs of each person and spend time with you to make sure you are asking for what you want. I have shopped and made purchases at Cartier, Tiffany's and many more but never have I found a more responsive, insightful and rewarding experience. Thank you Kebadjians!

I accompanied a friend to select her engagement ring at Kebadjians. I was very impressed with the time they took to explain different types of stones and jewelry to her and the care they took to ensure she understood her options. I give them five stars both in the areas of product quality and customer service.

I bought my engagement ring from Kebadjian brothers. Had a referral and was so thankful because the jewelry building is so hard to navigate. I trusted him so much that I bought a stone that he had just received before he sent it out to get certified. I only did this because I trusted him so much. It was a great ring for a great price. I highly recommend anyone to use them and to call ahead And set up an appointment or ask around for. Referral.

...The review by Mike K. is one of the many reasons why the Kebadjians only do business by referral. He gave them merely one star yet didn't get to experience their treatment of customers like family; their unsurpassed knowledge of gemology and the art of crafting fine jewelry; and their magnificent integrity. It's unclear to what extent he even viewed their work before giving them a mere star. I have been a customer and friend of the Kebadjians for most of my life, and cannot recommend them more highly and have referred others to them. I sincerely hope you are referred to them one day, too, or perhaps just try to charm their door open to you first by phone someday, or by some more clever means, if you're so bold. The best things in life typically don't come without some even modest suffering or inconvenience, and Kebadjian Jewelers is among the best things in life, and a blessing.

These guys fail at customer service. We came into their nice show room looking for a piece of jewelry and a nice lady asked us if we were recommended by someone. When I said no she nicely showed us the door because apparently you need a personal recommendation to have the privilege of doing business with them. Stay away - you are probably not good enough for them anyway.
