If I could give negative stars I would. We dropped off all files on March 25th, in person at this location. The senior tax professional - Margaret Terry - we worked with created an incorrect tax return on April 15. We asked her to amend this *multiple* times on the HR Block portal and through email before the April 18 filing date and received no response. I had to scramble to file for an extension on the evening of April 18. In early May, after not being able to contact anyone at this office, we finally escalated through the HR Block district manager. Margaret then amended our tax return and we approved the return for filing in mid-May. One month later (now mid-June) we found out neither the federal nor state return was filed.We then escalated the issue again and were sent to a different tax professional in the Dorchester office. Same situation - we had a meeting set up with her in the HR portal and she never called, and none of our emails or attempts to contact through the portal or attempts to call the office (which is NEVER OPEN) have gone through. It said our taxes were being reviewed for TWO MONTHS. We have visited the Dorchester office multiple times when it says it is open and it has not been open, and all calls are routed through the main HR Block customer service line, not the local Dorchester office. My husband literally had to take multiple hours off of work over multiple days to try to see if he could catch anyone walking into the office during the days/hours the office is supposed to be open.My husband was finally was able to get in with this tax professional on August 4th after waiting outside their office and found out that we now owe thousands of dollars to the federal government because even the *corrected* tax return done by Margaret Terry in June was incorrect. We now owe 4 months worth of taxes, penalties, and interest to Massachusetts and the IRS due to HR Block.Today is August 10th. Even after the in person meeting with the tax professional in Dorchester last week, the HR Block portal says that only our federal taxes have been e-filed and not our state taxes. None of our owed taxes have been paid. We've called and emailed to see what is happening, but I don't expect a response. We should have taken our taxes elsewhere in May and I will never recommend HR Block to anyone who doesn't want a 5 month long headache.

The staff here did not know how to do taxes. The one thing they were employed to do. Shockingly, they were most likely filing fraudulent taxes to begin with. I saw the lady that was assigned to me put down random numbers at places on the form when she simply didn't understand what to do. I had to stop her and educate her. I needed an NRA form to be filled as part of my taxes (very common and straight forward for international students) and the lady was absolutely clueless. She couldn't speak a word of English and couldn't spell AT ALL. I asked for the manager, and a woman called Katya showed up who was equally incompetent. She said she was the only one who knew how to do my taxes and since she had to go to church, she couldn't. It was peak business hours. The worst part is she tried to keep my passport with her. She said I should come collect it in a couple days when the taxes are complete. That is NOT how it works and is alarming! Do not go here, it's a low key scam.
