ABSOLUTELY THE WORST! You need to do all your banking in person because their app locks you out of your account on the 2nd incorrect password attempt and then the reset password option does not work.

As someone who worked at Massachusetts General Hospital for over 30 years I will say there were many, many benefits for me as an employee. One of the benefits was having easy on-site access to this credit union. I have been doing some of my banking with this credit union since I started at MGH and have always received top-notch service. As an employee, having the credit union on-site meant that even on a busy work day, it was still pretty easy to swing by to do some banking if needed. There is also ATM access but the personal touch was always my fave. I've seen some of the credit union staff come and go over the years but it is safe to say that everyone I have encountered has always been unfailingly kind and helpful. This is a full-service institution with most of the banking services anyone might need. I also appreciated the calendars they provide at the end of the year for the new year to come. For years, the credit union calendars with the lovely photos of Boston gracing each month, would hang in my office. What banks give anything away anymore? There may be some here who remember the days, long gone by now, when banks, eager for your business, would offer gifts for opening up an account. Bravo to good service, a great work ethic and well-trained helpful employees. Now that I am retired, I will miss the more regular interaction with the bank staff that I once enjoyed but I am happy to know they are still there and going strong. It's hard to like a bank these days, but I like this credit union. There is also a branch in Cambridge and another in Charlestown either of which which might be easier access for some folks since access into Mass General during these days of the pandemic is not easy unless you work there or have a medical appointment.

Our family has been banking with this credit union for over a decade. We no longer live in the region but keep our account for various reasons. But multiple times over the past five or so years, the credit union has severely let us down. Still, we remained faithful to the credit union out of a misplaced sense of loyalty--both to the bank and the idea of credit unions. Our main "banks" are two other credit unions that have always treated us with exemplary courtesy and professionalism. Sadly, our experience with HUECU is even worse than our past experiences with big banks which caused us to move our accounts to credit unions in the first place. It's difficult to get in touch with HUECU staff to help if we have a problem--again, we're no longer in Massachusetts so can't stop in at an office. Often, we're on hold on the phone so long we just give up. When we finally get in touch with a bank representative, we're NEVER greeted with the warm amiability we've come to expect from credit unions in general. The agents have, instead, consistently been apathetic, at best--treating us as if we're bothering them. We've even had a supervisor argue with us when we alerted her to poor customer service interactions we'd had trying to resolve an issue over two weeks. The supervisor never offered an apology, apathetically asking, instead, "What do you want me to do about it?" Lately, we've had tech troubles managing our account. We're still waiting for help from HUECU. No one will take the time to actually help us resolve the issue. Maybe, like some big banks, HUECU prioritizes service allocation to its biggest clients and just doesn't have time for average families like ours. But this is exactly the kind of (unprofessional) behavior that drives so many consumers away from the big banks to credit unions. Not only can we not get help reliably when we need it from HUECU, but the staff is cold, dismissive, and unsympathetic every single time we manage to get through to them. We've decide it's time to close our account and keep our business at our other credit unions that at least treat us as if they do care about keeping us as customers.

The Harvard University Employees Federal Credit Union is a fabulous financial institution. The staff at the Massachusetts General Hospital branch are kind, professional, efficient, and helpful. HUECU offers state of the art banking technology (phone, web, ATM), and highly personalized service. I've been a member of the Harvard University Employees Credit Union for more than 20 years, and each time, I interact with the staff of the Harvard Square or MGH branches, I feel like I (as a customer), and my business, are valued by HUECU.

Merging Bill Pay was a complete disaster that should have been anticipated. We are leaving HUECU b/c of the poor assistance with this problem It has taken over 2 months!!!

I'm not sure if there is an actual physical branch located within the main campus of MGH, whose main address is also 55 Fruit Street, but the ATM that I posted a picture of, is located right inside the main entrance to the Yawkey building, between the escalator and the men's bathroom. I just wanted to update this so that people don't need to walk all over the campus looking for the ATM because there are other bank's ATMs scattered around the buildings.
