13 Austin Street, Charlestown“Great workout option in Charlestown. They often offer promos for classes/class packs which is always appreciated. Instructors are great and good class schedules. I do wish there were later weekend classes but there must not be a big enough demand.”

64 Arlington St, Boston“I had a great experience here as a fitness focused and working woman. I always take note when I am not the only woman in the weight room. Wonderful front desk staff, clean facility, and great positive gym vibes for a focused lift and cardio work out. I wish we had a gym like this in Baltimore.”
“I’ve been coming to Invictus Fenway since my next door CrossFit location closed almost two years ago. It has been a great experience with an amazing group of coaches, incredible schedule and solid programming. I’ve had the opportunity to drop in almost every CrossFit location I traveled to, either nationally or internationally. I’ve seen amazing boxes and the Invictus Fenway is definitely one of these amazing places (I know I’m biased ?since it is my home gym).”
“I've been going to this gym for 6+ years, even after I moved from the neighborhood. HIGHLY recommend for anyone (of all levels). The coaches are true professionals (and fun people) who understand that everyone is at a different point in their fitness journey. The workouts are scaleable and are highly effective for producing results. I always leave this place feeling physically and mentally refreshed.”
“If I could describe CrossFit Southie in one word it would be Awesome!!! The owners Chris & Amy are the absolute best! All the coaches are friendly, encouraging, patient, and extremely knowledgeable.
The box is clean and updated with all the newest and current equipment. All members are very friendly and supportive. It is an amazing community. The place is perfect and really special. I highly recommend it for everyone.

778 Tremont St, Boston“I worked with Chris for 3 months, and the progress that I saw was phenomenal! I lost over 20 lbs, gained confidence in working out in our garage gym and gained confidence as a new mom of 2! I really wanted to focus on myself and get in better shape (it helped my our wedding was right at the end of the 3 months). Chris helped me gain the confidence I needed/was searching for. The weekly check ins, meal plans, and workout plans were on point and he catered to the short amount of time that I had to get a workout in, and saw amazing results! I lost over 20+ pounds from the comfort of my home.
If you’re looking for a personal trainer, look no further, you won’t be disappointed!”

1115 Dorchester Ave, Boston“Firstly, I want to express my gratitude for the tremendous effort all of you put in at Body Fuel. Despite being with the team for just over a month, it feels like I joined yesterday – the experience has been that enjoyable. I especially want to extend my appreciation to Pat, Dante, and Fab. Your support has not only been motivational but has also been instrumental in guiding me with correct positions, speed, and every aspect of my journey. I sincerely appreciate it. Thank you and keep up excellent work :)”
“This is the best gym I've ever trained martial arts at and it's for a great price. $139-159 based on your plan and it includes a full weight room with free weights, over a dozen martial arts classes throughout the week, plenty of open mat space for training on your own, and a locker room with showers and towels provided by the gym. The instructors and staff are super friendly and the community at the gym is also great.”

Two International Place, International Pl, Boston“Wow-- I love this place. I've been looking for a new gym and considering a few of the high-quality gyms around Boston. After narrowing it down to Equinox and Republic Fitness, I decided to do trials at both. Equinox was nice, but Republic Fitness truly impressed me. Republic Fitness has all the features you'd expect at a nicer gym (new workout equipment, clean locker room, etc.) But it was the staff that made me sign up for a full membership immediately. From my first day, Lindsey was very helpful showing me around, and all the trainers seemed friendly and helpful. And the front desk-- amazing! Rooska and Tanisha are both incredibly friendly and supportive. While I found other gyms exuded an attitude of detached "coolness", Rooska and Tanisha led the way in making Republic Fitness feel warm and inviting. So glad I found this place!”
“Great experience! First time and was welcomed warmly by the front desk and coach! The team provided clear instructions, studio was clean and organized, and was given wipes before moving to each station. I really enjoyed my first class. If you’re looking for a friendly, welcoming, and upbeat environment and workout, you should go here!”
5AM - 9PM
25 Drydock Ave, Boston“Can't say enough good things about this place and its people. I've been a member a little less than a year and in that time have met countless amazing people and gotten to know the EBF team a bit. They put a lot of effort into the culture that they create and it shows. It's one thing to create a great fitness experience, but to do so in an environment that creates psychological safety with inclusive and uplifting energy is a rare find. As a fat queer person who has spent time in a bunch of boutique fitness spaces in Boston, this is easily the most affirming. The team is thoughtful, responsive to feedback, and takes steps to make personal relationships with clients. Hands down my favorite place to sweat. Also, the sauna is A+”
“It's right next to where I stay, so it's easy access to a good gym. They have a pool, workout classes, and a variety of fitness equipment for all levels. Sign up is a breeze, then get started right away. Pick up their monthly activities calendar to stay in the loop.”

400 Commonwealth Ave, Boston“had a great experience working with Johnny doing some personal training work. with his help I made significant progress towards my training goals in just a few short months. Highly recommend!”
“A member since 2018, not an mma fighter but boy did this little old RN get a workout! J reassured me that an effective and comprehensive workout can be achieved by all ages and abilities here… (and watching Jason workout with other fellow trainers and athletes is quite inspiring for the rest of us working toward goals!)
I tell all my fellow healthcare workers to check this place out — J will design a routine to keep each of us strong ??”
“Friendly staff, kept clean and a great location... can't ask for much more! Signing up was easy and the woman behind the front desk was very helpful and answered all of my questions. Everyone does their part to keep the equipment clean which is easy due to the supplies left out by the staff. I emailed the manager of the gym with a question before joining and he was quick to respond and answered everything. I have never had to wait for equipment due to the abundance of treadmills, bikes and weights. Getting to the gym can be hard! Beacon Hill Athletic Club makes it easier.”

441 Stuart St, Boston“Love Healthworks! I go to Back Bay and it is so big! I never feel crowded. There are so many good group fitness classes. The steam room is where I end my day at least once a week, it is luxurious.”
5AM - 7:30PM
375 Market St, Boston“I’ve been absolutely blown away from the Brighton location orange theory! The gym has always been intimidating for me and I tried a ton of other workout classes that felt competitive or unreachable. This Orange Theory has always made me feel welcomed and wanted, and I always feel great after working out here! The daily challenges are fun and you get to do something new everyday. The coaches are wonderful and supportive, and will push you to do your best. Shoutout to Coach Lydia, she is an incredible coach and I love her energy & vibes!!! Thank you so much, Orange Theory!”
“Invictus is a legendary name in the world of CrossFit, especially in 2023 when Team Invictus took the top spot at the CrossFit Games. They have a couple of locations in Boston, and even though I used to live and work in the area, I never had the opportunity to drop-in with them.I recently got back into CrossFit this past May after many years away and have been working at going 3x a week. Well, I was going to be back in Boston for a couple of days, and if I wanted to be consistent, I needed to find a gym. Invictus in Park Square was within a 15 minute walk from my hotel (Omni Parker House).I took in a 7am class. I got there about 15 minutes and the previous class was still in action, so I got a preview of what I was in for as far as the programming. Coach Molly caught sight of me and told me there was another room I could warm up and stretch in while I waited for my class to start. When it was time to start and I went to see the space in full for the first time, it was a little smaller than I was expecting. being long and narrow and relatively shorter ceilings where I wouldn't feel comfortable doing jerks or snatches, but apart from the heigh they make really good use of the space. It was a full class, but no one was in anyone else's way.Coach Molly was welcoming throughout. She gave clear instruction to the class. Even though she didn't know a whole lot about my time with CF (apart from the fact that I go to a gym in NH and have been going since May), she made sure to let me know where I can find equipment or personal dry erase boards, and she had a keen eye in how she observed my form and gave good feedback. That's important to me, because the last thing I want is to do something wrong and get hurt because of it. The strength programming just so happened to involve a movement I haven't had the opportunity to do yet at my home gym (sumo deadlifts), and between Molly's instruction and her advice on a minor adjustment, I felt completely at ease with the movement. The programming for the metcon was a beast, in my eyes. In the best way. Sometimes, I like to feel like a workout has kicked my butt, particularly if I go in the morning (I'm ordinarily a lunchtime or after work guy). This didn't disappoint. Lots of power cleans, lots of wall balls, lots of rowing. The other athletes that were there were pretty cool. I tend to keep to myself when I'm in an unfamiliar place, but CrossFit gyms can feel familiar because everyone is sharing a similar mindset. I was cranking out the last of my rowing calories and some of the other athletes that were there—people who don't know me, and in all likelihood will never even see me again—rallied around me to push me to finish the rowing. That's the kind of stuff I love about CF, and it's good to see a big name in the industry still has that sense of community.tl;dr - Although smaller than the average gym, they make great use of the space. Coach Molly was a great all-around instructor, the programming was challenging in a good way, and the other athletes share that sense of community that CrossFit is known for.”

4170 Washington St, Roslindale“FitChoice, the undiscovered gem in the gym business, is crushing it. 24/7 access, clean, friendly staff and ownership, and rarely more than 10 people there at once. I've read complaints about their pricing being too high but you must understand a few things with the price:* You're paying for the 24/7 access, which is a superb amenity. Electricity is not free, people.* You want a higher-than-average price because you get higher-than-average clientele, simple as that. By essentially pricing out people you don't want there anyway, you ensure a much more pleasurable atmosphere for loyal members.Want to settle for the cheapest? Planet fitness or Crunch would love to have you- where no one wipes down machines and people gawk and stare while they're waiting 15 minutes for the next available machine.FitChoice by a mile.”

20 Piedmont St, Boston“I’ve been going to Form Training and working with Peretz since it opened. It is awesome- it’s clean, organized, and well-equipped. Peretz is an amazing trainer that tailors my workouts to my goals and he’s super reliable and friendly. I highly recommend.”

1 Federal St, Boston“Avery is a wonderful instructor. I highly recommend Avery for anyone who is interested in taking any classes at Everybody fights, she is very knowledgeable, helpful has a great playlist and does a fantastic job with setting up the stations.”
“Great Gym! Employees very friendly. Everything is new and spaced out nice. Great selection of weights and a deadlift platform. Stair-masters and realistic exercise bikes. Oh and a dry sauna.”
“My girlfriend recommended that I try Btone with her and I could not be happier! It exceeded my expectations and was easy to follow along with even though it was my first time on the reformer. I would 1000% take another class and if I lived closer, sign up ASAP.”
“I use the pool at the Oak Sq Y to swim laps, usually in the early afternoon. With its big windows allowing the afternoon light to pour into the clear, clean pool, the Y’s aquatic center is my happy place.”
“We stayed at the Seaport Hotel and went to Wave to get a workout in. As we were fumbling around with dumbbells the manager (think his name was Jason) was passing by and gave us some helpful tips and offered us group fitness classes. I was very impressed with the workout he made up for us right on the spot. Would definitely stay at Seaport Hotel again just for the workouts.”

1587 Hyde Park Ave, Hyde Park“I have been coming since November. I come before work. I arrive about 2am. The staff is great. I have seen a few others using equipment that allowed me to learn how to use them. I end each visit with either HydroMassage or the standard massage chair.I haven't been in the locker room or downstairs free weights. Someday,I will venture around.I find it a relaxing, no pressure experience.”
“I’ve had the honor to be able to work directly with Madeline for a while. Last year, before I got into my in-season sports, she was able to set up and take us through a workout even before even getting her personal training certification. Recently, I’ve had the ability to work with Madeline now that she’s gotten her certification. I’ve seen a very impressive shift since working out with her before. Madeline is very good about focusing on my exact needs being an athlete. She is great about giving me encouragement, staying personable, and keeping high energy throughout the entire workout. When I voice any concern, like a strain or pain, she is able to quickly adjust the workout in order to accommodate. Madeline is also very good at giving me slight adjustments not only during workouts, but after workouts. It’s been a genuine pleasure to work with her and I’m excited to continue to do so.”
