I was driving up from New Jersey to drop my son off at Northeastern today. On the way, the Hot Transmission Oil light came on and also the check engine light. Once we got to Boston, I stopped at Ell-Bern and they were so nice and helpful. I really appreciated their kindness during a very stressful situation!

I went in telling them what needs to be fixed and because I didn’t agree with the cost they charged a diagnostic fee.

Came in for the first time due to a persistent tire leak. The problem was quickly identified, they showed me where the previous repair had failed, and installed a new tire for a fair price. I had to come in a second time due to a rattling noise from my exhaust. They lifted the car, identified the problem, and while they were unable to repair the exhaust (it's requires an extensive rebuild), they did not charge me a dollar and for a second time were prompt, honest, and friendly.

We showed up for a MA inspection. One person told us to pull the car in then the other person told us to pull out because there was a line. Then he came over and asked about our plates which we had not put on yet. He said he would put them on for $10 we declined and he walked away saying nothing. I got out and said but we still want an inspection he said you must have the plates on. I said ok please put the plates on then. He walked away and took the person behind us in and ignored us. We said something about it but they were rude so we left. We went to E and S, 10 minutes away and they are putting the plates on for free and even explained things to us. Stay away from here they are rude.

Got my car inspected and tires rotated here and next time I went to get the tires rotated somewhere else and was told that the last place (here) broke a stud/lugnut. They just replied to this comment saying I had a broken stud (yeah, they broke it!). Brought it back to be repaired and they told me they didn’t do it even they were the only ones to have touched it. They charged me for repair. Won’t be coming here again

Excellent location for MA Annual Safety Inspection. Entire process completed in <15 minutes, with comfortable waiting area in the lobby.
My prior experience with safety inspections at other shops in Greater Boston meant scheduling an appointment, or dropping car as a walk-in but requiring 1-3 hour wait for staff to have time to get to my car -- Ell-Bern is completely different, as they took my car immediately, and returned it as soon as they were finished with the process. Very fast and professional - I will be coming back here for all future inspections!

I can't wait to review! I drove through curbside and pay 35 cash and got inspection for my rav4 car within 15 minutes! They are so fast, friendly and professional. I have been 2 years getting inspection here! Thank you?

Better get your cash prepared when coming to this place since it only accept cash. But if you in a hurry for cash then there is an ATM on the other side of the building, but you know it’s not free.

Went for a car inspection sticker, Saturday around 1 pm. They close at 3 pm. It was raining, not busy! Only had to wait five minutes, and then my turn seemed to only take 5 minutes. Quick and painless!!!

Very friendly and professional. When my tire pressure alert was on and I wasn't sure if I had damage or not, they were quick to get everything checked out.
I was able to get back on the highway with peace of mind.
If you're in the area, I can definitely recommend Ell-Bern if you're in a bind.
