This is a nice place. I took a field trip here with my class and from what I saw it was amazing. In the center of the building there is a 1:1 replica of the U.S senate chamber. I also enjoyed the stone plaques of the 50 states in order of which to join the Union.

Visiting the Institute of the United States Senate was recommended to me by a friend who knew I was going to the Kennedy presidential museum right next door. When I entered the Institute, I was greeted by a very pleasant gentleman who offered to provide me any assistance. When I told him I was just there to visit the Institute, he explained that it was no longer open to the public. That ended my experience at the Institute.

Super cool and well done replica of our senate floor. It's so much smaller than what'd you'd think!

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the institute. Nate and the three docents who assisted our group gave us a fascinating look into the life of Senator Kennedy and the workings of the US Senate. As a teacher of 34 years, I was extremely impressed with the knowledge, presentation, and love of subject matter of the four gentlemen who led our tour group. I highly recommend including the institute on your next trip to Boston.

The EMK Institute is next door to the JFK Library in Boston, but staffers informed me that it is not affiliated with the Library. That said, the Institute is really focused on the US Senate and the life of Edward Kennedy. The centerpiece is the replica of the US Senate Chamber, where visitors can sit in a "Senator's" seat. also remarkable is the replica of Senator Kennedy's Senate office. If the institute could have made the office so that visitors could sit in it or interact with in it like a certain presidential library in the US, that would made the experience more fun.

We traveled here with a large group of 8th grade students today and The Kennedy Institute organized an incredible learning experience for us!! From walking into the life size replica of the US Senate, to breakout groups where we learned how our Senate works to represent us--start to finish, students were all highly engaged. Their knowledgeable educators created an environment where everyone was given the opportunity to learn something new. Well designed experience and cannot recommend it enough!

A trip to Boston would not be complete without visiting this senatorial library which is both a museum of Senator Edward Kennedy's life and a educational experience about how the Senate works. I want to thank Altagracia for being my tour guide for the orientation of the tour and showing me around the replica of the Senator's Washington office. I saw the real office when he was alive back when I was a Washington intern in college. The exhibit on twenty historic and contemporary trailblazers outside the office replica was very powerful. Also awe inspiring was the replica Senate chamber, the docents will show you where your current senators sit in the actual Washington chamber, and while I was there, there's state markers showing where the active presidential candidates sit when they are on the Washington Senate floor. There's also a cafe and gift shop to pick up souvenirs. By the way, save your ticket for a discount for entry into the JFK presidential library.
