A great bookstore, very large, well stocked and organized. Many historical and more recent books. I looked for a book by Dennis Lehane (the author of Mystic River, who is from Boston) but couldn't find it. Damage. But an address that I recommend for lovers of old paper.

If you’re a tourist on the freedom trail this is a detour you should take! Very cool book store hidden in the alley. The books are well organized! Even if you don’t read a lot this place is still cool for the historical aspect .

? Commonwealth lived up to the hype. I've been to their sister store in New Orleans a few times and have heard that this was the main store. I loved every minute of being in this amazing bookshop with tons of used and rare books. Fantastic selection across many genres and decades. A great collection of maps and old world antique pictures and prints as well. Friendly and helpful staff.
