This branch of Citizens Bank engages in Fraud, Discrimination, and Unfair & Deceptive Business Practices. DO NOT BANK HERE unless you are prepared to have your account suddenly closed for no apparent reason, and then to have Cotizens double-down in their lack of any kind of legitimate, business-related, finance-related reason to suddenly close your account. I have good credit and had zJUST opened the account, and was then informed that Citizens bank "reserves the right to terminate the business relationship at any time." Well, this constitutes UNFAIR & DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES, DISCRIMINATION and Fraud, which the Commonwealth of Massachusetts protects consumers against.

If you own a Condo in Jamaica Plain, DO NOT BANK HERE.
We HAD a condo account here. I have spent the past two weeks trying to update my condo trustees. Over 5 visits to the branch we have gotten vague and contradictory answers only to end with "its impossible to open a condo account"
I think it is normal for complications or problems to come up in banking. When problems arise, the staff here excels at giving answers that make you go-away as opposed to solving your problem.
In the end the best advice I got from multiple clerks and managers was " Go across the street to 'Eastern Bank'"

JP Residents and others. Do NOT bank at Citizens but especially not in JP or in the region under the management of Amanda Giammarco. 1) Two main reasons: 1) Citizens' fraud detection department is weak. While Bank of America detected that my check had been whitewashed and re-written for $11,900!!, Citizens accepted the (obviously frauded) check and charged my account without question. I know many have experienced this. That's one thing but what's impt. is how a bank then treats you and the problem. 2) When I went to the JP branch to handle it, Amanda (Regional Mgr) looked up and told me she would be 'right there'. Two hours later I still could not get her attention but rather dealt with a new person who failed to give me accurate or helpful information. Amanda promised to get back to me that day- did not. As a result of wrong info I received, much more damage occured to my account. Since Amanda has not answered calls and again promised "be right there"- an NOT. (This is the first time I've submitted a review on anything- that's how strongly I feel.) There are far better banks for customer service and branch management! I'm now submitting my review to Office of Citizens General Counsel- thankfully have connections there.

Not a good Bank . Money Is regulated by Overseas Companies. Your and Identity get stolen. You go In the Bank ? to do Transactions and your Money ? Is not given to you. A Claim has to be filed according to the Bank and then you have to wait for a Response. The ATM In the Bank states you get your Money and you don't. The Bank ? personnel state they don't own the ATMS Overseas Companies do. The Bank Manager gets nasty and then cancels your account. People who are Elderly and disabled who have Direct Deposit of Social Security checks have to give 30 days notice to Social Security what happens to the checks if the account gets cancelled by the Bank. Elderly and Disabled don't get their money and they may go hungry and die

are you kidding me? This is a bank? I went there today with my 94 year old mom who really needed help doing her financial transactions. I was NOT allowed to go into the bank with my mom and errors were made on her transactions. What kind of flipping entity does not allow a caregiver to enter the premises with the person doing banking? The very rude woman at the door told me I could not enter. When this is done we will be changing banks as the branch is Jamaica Plain has ZERO common sense. I know this is stressful for everyone....I understand better than those jerks at the bank as I work in healthcare but as a daughter and caregiver I should be allowed to go in the damn bank with my mom to help her....she is freaking 94

Beware of the scheme and/or incompetency of Citizens Bank business. On June 1, 2011, I went to Citizens Bank at Jamaica Plain, MA in response to a flyer that offered $150 cash to new account openers.. No cash was given to me but Instead, they took $76 from me.As I was told at the bank, I set up three automatic payments as condition for cash reward. No cash came and they said i had to make a direct deposit of my paycheck. Why didn't say so when I opened the account? So I withdraw $1500 and closed the account and delete them from automatic payments to merchants. One of them was ADT security and although I deleted this bank, they system took longer to change and send the citizen for a month payment of $40.Instead of denying the bill, Citizens took this as a business opportunity and started charging $25 for insufficient fund for three days. When I found out this on July 30, 2011, I deposited the accumulated finance charge of $75.96 in good faith to prevent further accumulation of the charge. Of course, I visited the branch on Monday, they did not refunded the money. I kept calling to resolve issues for months with no success. In 2015 and 2018, I contacted the Citizens Bank again. this time their response was it been tool old. Why didn't the refund the fund in 2011. Was it too early?

Is there no stars or even negative? I needed information on my account for a few years back (2015-2018). Of course I tried their online messaging but got nothing but "you can get 18 mos" from your account and some research fees about old accounts Then I phoned and got the same message untilthey sent me to the branch. And then I was charged $6 per statements and only in paper printing! So I spent $288 for those statements. At least at that price I would have expected PDF or CSV but no. PAPER. In 2019. I will change banks ASAP but not before I get the 2019 summaries for free.

The agreement between the Jamaica Plain neighborhood and Citizens Bank was that they were to maintain the clock in front of the bank. That is why their logo is on the clock but, it is always timeless in the wrong way.

Stay away from this bank they lie to you and lower your credit score I shall elaborate. Unfortunately I've been with this bank for 15 years and I've gained nothing since I've had them. I've applied for a loan for $10,000 the approved it and then denied it based on paperwork meanwhile my credit score took a hit. I then went to chase bank in over the phone and with in 10minutes I had $10,000 wired to my account with very few questions. And then like a dummy, I decided to get a credit card with citizens Bank. I missed one payment of 29 and then proceeded to half my credit limit. This is a warning stay away from this bank this is by far the worst bank I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with.
