Restaurant is permanently closed. It used to have the best pizza margherita, caccio e peppe, and Bolognese. Too bad!!!

Went there tonight - Good thing, as I was told they are shutting their doors tomorrow evening for good. You will be missed, Babbo!

I don't think that I could say enough positive things about Babbo. The wine selection is amazing, and the sommelier will help to find the perfect wine for your palate and price range. Also, they will keep reference of your preferred wines during your subsequent visits. I love having the ability to curate your own cheese board. The truffle honey is to die for! And so is the carbonara! Definitely one of my favorites!!

Lit like an Olive Garden on Route 9, this seaport establishment has done two things well 1)Remove any sign of previous owner Mario Battali 2) makes a pretty darn good neopalitan pizza. The pizza seems to be well made and the wood fired oven does a nice job giving a crisp firm crust. I wouldn't order anything besides pizza. Good place in the seaport for a quick pie. Bring sunglasses if dining in the evening. Management could give two shits about ambiance.

I was with a large group of 12. Our server was so super nice( his name was Matt he was patient and answered every question).. The calamari was amazing--really great! The cheese and house cured meat plate. Amazing. BUT.... our order got messed up. One girl did not get her food right away ( they did not charge us ). and my pizza was a bit underwhelming ( crust was soggy with olive oil but also burnt on bottom). The flavor profile was so great but I couldn't even pick up my slice .. oil dropped off and it was flimsy and the toppings slid off. I had to fork and knife the slice Our waiter (Matt) was very patient and split our bills etc. if have given s 3 star had it not been for his attempt to really make the experience great. $ He had great recommendations and gave great attentive service-- esp for a large party.

I had a really terrible experience service-wise. On top of that, after I checked in via an Open Table reservation, I was informed that I never checked in and missed my reservation on their app. It took 15 minutes after being seated to see a server, and we were never checked in on after our order was initially taken. We both finished our glasses of wine before our entrees even arrived and were not given on opportunity to order second glasses, which we very gladly would have. I'm hoping this was a blip in service-level, as I've generally had great experiences here in the past. For what it's worth - the food was dependably great and the water service and table clearers were awesome. Table service was some of the worst I've experienced in the city.

We ate here on Sunday, June 23. While the food was good, it was not exceptional. However, the service was terrible. The wait person misinformed us about ingredients in dishes with unusual names. Menus were left on the table throughout the meal. Beverages were delivered after the entree despite being ordered first. Dinner plates were left on the table prior to serving dessert after being asked twice to have them removed. You could find better food and better service in lots of other restaurants nearby.

This is good pizza in the style of southern Italy. Pasta is cooked al dente, as it should be. I find Carbonara is often a good litmus test for care and skill in preparation and they make the dish well, if with a touch too much black pepper. We've eaten here several times and they get a lot of important details right and you can count on a solid dish, regardless of what you order. It's not inexpensive and the portions are not huge, family style. But I think the value is good.

Hard pass on this place. After being seated and given menus, 20 minutes went by before our waiter came to take our order. We watched him walk past us to help other tables. When he did come by, he apologized for the wait. My friend and I started off with the chopped salad. It had rectangular pieces of hard cheese and salami, lettuce, and a mayo-esque dressing. This wasn't a well designed salad and it tasted like a deconstructed deli sandwich. We then ordered the quattro formaggi pizza. My friend and I could hardly stomach this pizza--all of the cheeses were very strong and funky. Very confused by these choices. At this point we just wanted to eat something good so we ordered the Margherita pizza. I mean, if a restaurant can't do this well, they have no business making pizza. The pizza was limp, the sauce was raw and watery, and the cheese was barely melted and thick. It also needed salt. The waiter took a long time to bring us the check as well, apologizing again for the wait. If you find yourself apologizing for wait time, you should make an extra effort to be timely with that table. Between the terrible food and absentee waiter I see no reason to return to Babbo.

Pillowy. Fresh. Savory. Crunchy. Verdant. Saucy. Salty. Get in my belly. This is how I describe the Gnocchi alla Primavera. The gnocchi is so pillowy soft you barely have to chew it. But the peas, asparagus, and Lima beans were crunchy to balance. The pesto was no ordinary pesto, nooo. These kitchen magicians added mint to keep these springtime flavors going. And then they added guanciale on top! There was not even a thought of leftovers to take home. As if that wasn't enough, our server, Nadeane, was wonderful. Down to earth. Fun to talk to. Great attitude. Came around enough but not so much I ever felt rushed.

Mushy and over cooked pasta plus soggy and limp pizza. The standards of the dishes I ordered were beyond low and unacceptable. I ordered the Margherita pizza and when I went to pull a slice to taste, it felt cold and the pizza had no structure to it and it flopped barely holding the toppings and ripping at the seams near the crust. It tasted sour and I'm not sure if it's from the tomatoes or the actual crust itself. However, the crust looked pale in color, and the mozzarella barely melted. The pizza was an overall failure. My thoughts are the pizza was not in the oven long enough to crisp up and they just left the pizza sitting there and the sauce made it all soft, soggy and pretty much had it falling apart. I recall my server telling another server who brought out our pizza, the pizza was supposed to come out first. But the pasta came out first and then the pizza. Communication issues were happening in front of me and my server apologized, which was fine, but not a good look for the customer to see and hear these matters. Next order was the Squid Ink Linguini. One, it was NOT linguini it was angel hair pasta they served me. I know and saw it said Squid ink LINGUINE on the menu and even on my check. False advertising? Typo on the menu? What is it? Did you run out of linguine? With the pasta type already in question, the dish tasted like really salty and clumpy baby food. The pasta was over boiled to the point it was mush and without chewing pretty much disintegrated in your mouth. If the pasta was el dente that would have been its saving grace, but that wasn't even happening. My experience at Babbo was utterly lacking and even the basics of just serving hot food and at least some decent pizza and pasta was not delivered.

Worst service ever in the history of a Boston restaurant. I'd give more specifics but I'm actually in the restaurant now typing this order while we wait for the rest of our long overdue order in a half empty joint. Instead of fixing his many (MANY) mistakes, the waiter lied about it, then fought us on the order & actually said "that's not what I got" (he didn't get about half the large order right). As former waiters, we were nice about it until he pouted openly instead of making things right; stood to the side of the restaurant and didn't fix his mistakes including delivering a cheeseless pizza. No cheese. On the pizza. At all. Finally a nice waiter named Geronimo came out, started fixing things & was very gracious. Unreal. Speak to the manager terrible. #memeinthenaking #mayispeaktothemanagermamie That waiter is psychotic.

First off, mediocre would be a generous word to describe the experience my friend and I had at this establishment. The place was not even close to capacity and we felt neglected. We resorted to telling the hosts that we hadn't seen our waiter an hour after being seated. For a place, that looks as nice as this place does, the service did not match the decor. If I could give a zero star review I would.

I've been maybe 3 or 4 times and always enjoy myself. Is it going to blow your mind? No. But the restaurant is big and open, the staff is welcoming, and you pretty much never have to wait for a table. The prices are more than reasonable (especially given the area). It's a perfectly solid spot to scratch that Italian itch if you can't or don't want to stumble around the North End. I have a theory about why this place isn't more popular (here or in the physical world). The location is just a bit hard to find. It's in a sleepy part of Seaport that feels a bit dark and somewhat uninhabited. You wouldn't randomly stumble into Babbo. It's maybe one street away from being more happening. All that being said, if you do go, you are a very short walk from one of the best views of Boston in fan pier park. I'd recommend!
