I’ve been renting from this location specifically for over 7 years and customer service is not something they excel at. Today’s experience, was topper though. Rep Basin needs to go to customer service training, as well as, the woman working with him on this mornings shift. I came in and went to the counter and immediately basin said “go sit down we are waiting for cars”, no good morning or anything despite my first words being “hi”. Once he called me by first saying “license and credit card”, when I didn’t respond because I didn’t think he was talking to me, he yelled “excuse me”. I reserved an economy and when I got upstairs it was actually an SUV. I wouldn’t have minded this as I frequently receive upgrades, but the car was dirty! This is the 5th time I have received a filthy vehicle. I returned downstairs to inform them of this and was met with aggression from Basin and unhelpful remarks from the small female worker who has been employed here for years. Basin is practically screaming about how there is nothing he can do to see if there are other cards upstairs for rent, meanwhile I am naming off several vehicles, asking him to just ask the cleaning staff to prioritize one of them for me. Instead he has me waiting in the lobby for cars to be processed in the order the cleaning crew prefers.Such a disgusting interaction especially since both of the workers attitudes and tones changed for the white customers. I was able to witness the interaction before and after I went upstairs to retrieve the vehicle for rent.I hate that this is the closest location to me. I’ll be emailing corporate more and out this encounter because I have had enough with the lack of respect and customer service given at this location.Updated-the initial SUV was “cleaned” again for me and at first glance when entering the vehicle, it appeared this was true, but after leaving the garage and using the rear and back seats I discovered nasty, greasy fingers prints all of the leather, crumbs still in seats, long white dog hair, chips, and dog food in the vehicle( see photos).

I am never going back. We were given a car with major problems. They replaced it with a dirty car. The manager was not interested in listening to my concerns at all.

The car we rented had not been serviced after the previous owner - it was dirty and trashed inside and out, and the tire pressure was dangerously messed up on all 4 tires.

They cars doesn’t have GPS even if the webpage offers the service. Staff not very happy to help you, they just want you about if their way

Pick up was flawless, didn't get the car I wanted but it wasn't a big deal to me as long as I got a similar car.Drop off however was awful. I showed up a few minutes before my specified drop off time and there was no one around to receive the return. I go down to the office and the door was locked telling me "we don't accept after hours returns and to come back tomorrow or to drop it off at Logan airport." My train to return home was in about 20 minutes at the time and I live 300 miles away. I wouldn't have been able to "come back tomorrow or drop it off at Logan airport." Finally one of the attendants opened the door so he could repeat those instructions since he thought "I was late". I showed him my parking garage ticket which had my time of entry into the garage, it showed that I was actually early. The attendant begrudgingly accepted my car key and told me to "be on time next time." There will not be a next time.

Never going back. Would give 0 stars if I could. I was mysteriously charged $300 for using emergency roadside assistance (which never happened - I never used emergency roadside assistance). I was never refunded despite spending hours on the phone and over email with Budget. So they have essentially stolen $300 from me. I won't be renting from Budget again and won't recommend it.

Very positive experience with Budget from renting my car on line to going to the Clarendon St location in Boston , to pick up my car . Staff was very professional , and efficient.Check in process took 5 minutes !And the car was brand new with under 500 miles ..

Staff at the desk are neither friendly nor interested. Seemed to be others that had concerns/issues and no one seemed to leave with any level of satisfaction.

Great experience of Budget in Boston. I collected at their Downtown offices and returned to the airport. I could not fault anything, very quick, very organised, very easy and a great car.

Totally scam. Worst rental car experience ever. They claimed that I didn’t return the car key and then said they could not find their car. They will try whatever way to charge additional to your bill. Rubbish car rental service. Saw other comments the same experience. Shame.

Promised a Toyota RAV4, was provided a Nissan Rogue. Total piece of junk, despite being brand new. Staff was courteous, however.

The customer service was bland to horribly rude. The car was scuffed and smelled like weed and cigarettes. I was worried I’d get a ticket or worse if I was pulled over for the weed smell. It gets better. The transmission went out a couple of hours into my trip which was not only terrifying but caused me to have to cancel half my plans. Instead of driving up the coast we ended up in an hour Uber ride back to Boston with not enough time to finish our intended plans. I will say, The woman on the phone with roadside assistance was wonderful. She was Literally, the only good thing about my experience.

Car not clean, smelled of dope smoke. I have a smoke allergy which flared up so we returned the car early. No refund for early returns but no compensation for providing a vehicle that was not serviced properly.

Not sure why this place has such horrible reviews. We had a very pleasant experience and we got a brand new clean car. We checked out the car from here and returned it at the Boston airport with zero issues. Dianne was very kind and helpful with check in. There were zero hidden fees. Would happily rent from here again.
