Do not rent from Budget. The automated pickup system at the airport is a nightmare, tried to charge me more than $5K for the car I had already paid for. Took an hour to straighten that out, and the agent couldn't get the printer to work to print the contract (I wanted hard copy to make sure I wouldn't get dinged for the $5K) The car broke down. First they told me it was okay to continue driving it. Then it stalled at a traffic light (luckily started again). It took them 17 hours to arrange a replacement. Called at 7:00 p.m. First, nearest Budget (20 minutes away in Portland. Maine) "declined" to swap the car for another one. Then they told me they would deliver another car at 2:00 a.m. from about 2 hours away (you read that right). Stayed up and waited - no show. Missed that deadline and told me it would be 6 a.m. You can't actually call them , you have to text and wait for someone to call you. There were hours of someone will call in "15 minutes." Finally at noon (that's right, the next day), an "escalation specialist" called, put me on hold for 15 minutes, came back and told me I could swap the car at the nearby Budget (the one who declined earlier). Got the car. Next day it starts flashing a warning that it needs an oil change. Budget doesn't maintain their cars, and they won't help you when they break down. Just don't. They did email me a credit for one day rental in the future if I want. Unlikely. Finally, this was a 2-week rental that we paid about $1,800 for, and this is what we got.

We’ve rented from Budget before but the Boston airport Budget was unlike anything we’ve experienced… in a bad way.The line was not that long at 7am. About 5 parties were waiting but from start to finish I waited 45 min to get our car. That doesn’t seem to add up. They had 2 people initially then grew to about 4 people but it was still so slow. And I found out why when I got to the counter. It took several minutes for them to find a full size car for me, then her computer system seemed to have issues and was really slow as well. I think we could’ve finished in half the time if things were more smooth. Perhaps a system upgrade is warranted? Then we got to our car. The outside of it was wet as if it was washed but it was very dirty still. How is that possible…? There were patches of what looked like would be bird poop and scratches all over the car. The brakes make a sound when we brake. The inside of the car doesn’t look clean either. Various spots of dust. And the SMELL of the car was musty and mildew-like.In the trunk, the bottom was wet and not dried out. As you can see from the luggage bag, it soaked up the water from the trunk and seeped into some of the clothes inside. Every day when we step into the car, it has this mildew smell which makes me quite nauseous. This one star is for the lady who gave alright service.

1. Most expensive rental I have ever had ($1200 for 11 days and advertised as $32 a day to try to make it seem affordable)2. Had to wait almost an hour to get to the register at the airport as budget had the longest line3. Was given a Camry with many scratches and seat staining - alignment off, literally the worst rental I’ve ever been given4. Got a flat tire driving back to the airport, which they are charging me for, even though the company they sent to help me let me know that there were faulty tires on the car that Budget failed to replace or inspect.I would BEG you to use another rental company. 0/10

We usually use another rental car company, but they were not able to offer us the Jeep Wrangler we wanted for our early fall coastal drive. Budget exceeded our expectations and a very fair price. The entire process, at a very busy airport, was 100%. We will not hesitate to use Budget in the future.

Your employees are rude! The Chevy equinox we were give brakes went out within 18 hours of having it. We lost 2 days of our vacation because of this situation. We could not get a straight answer or help from anyone. We even went to a budget rental company and they couldn’t help and also struggled to get in contact with someone to help. We could not get a replacement vehicle for a 3 hr radius and were told we had to wait to see when they could get the vehicle to us. We were transferred back and forth between road side assistance and customer service multiple times and talked to about 15 different people, most of which were very hard to understand and had a hard time understanding us. Found out notes were not being put in about our car and situation. Took almost 2 weeks to start the reimbursement process, which we are still waiting on.

Budget gave me a Hyundai Kona car with a worn front left tire. I was driving uncomfortably because there was a buzzing sound. On the way back from Portland/Maine, the front left tire blew while traveling on the road at a speed of 65-70 miles/hour.I was still able to control the vehicle and pulled over to the side of the road and avoided a collision with the rear car.On the other hand, Budget staff at Boston Logan Airport pick up center put wrong mileage as beginning of rental, he put 50457miles but the odometer record 50772 miles,

I was double billed. Prepared and still had to wait in a 45 min line to get the car. Then pointed to the ominous ‘white tent’ for another wait to get the actual car, then received 2 emails saying I paid looking as if I double paid again. Asked the staff, no clue how to help. Speaking English not a forte’.This isn’t isolated to this rental. It happened a couple of months ago, same scenario, different location.Saving $20 is not worth dealing with these people. Give me Enterprise any day!!My advice, run and run fast to the Emerald Aisle of enterprise. You reserve you car and walk right to the aisle, pick any car in that aisle and drive out. Easy, pleasant and fast.In my opinion, no discount is worth my time and aggravation.

Terrible experience - do not rent from Budget @ Logan Airport. Understaffed and it took over an hour just to check in go get a car. The other rental car companies were properly staffed with reasonable lines. I returned the car on time and got a call from Budget several days later saying the car was overdue and they were looking for it. I let them know we had returned the car on time several days earlier. Over a month later I get a letter from Budget telling me they are charging my credit card over $500 for class damage. There was no glass damage when we used or returned the car. The most frustrating car rental experience I’ve ever had. I refuse to pay for damage that we did not do. I won’t rent from this Budget location or from Budget ever again. What a nightmare.

FRAUDULENT! Tank was 70% filled they wrote full tank on paperwork. I asked them and they said don't worry about it.Called customer service and they said after I get the bill I can submit a complaint.Where to begin... Like many other reviews- long lines only at Budget. I pre checked and got on their fastbreak still no benefit. Finally get through all that go to pickup my "elite suv" and she tries to hand me a compact SUV, I booked & paid for an elite 7 passenger SUV, she says can I "upgrade you to a minivan".Are you kidding? I said no I'd like the. class I reserved. She brings out a dirty, banged up old Acadia. I told her this car was dirty, with bald tires and fender damage. She said just take a picture and submit it later. Are you kidding? I went to the manager and requested she remedy the situation she said "you'll. have to wait". Now they bring out a dirtier, older, Explorer. Filthy inside and out. At this point I was ready to get out.SLOW, POOR, and FRAUDULENT BUSINESS. Be wary they provided me a car that was NOT safe to drive!

I wish I had read the Google reviews for the Boston airport before I rented a car from Budget. I would have used a different company. The lines are extremely long. I waited almost an hour for my reserved car. I waited 30 minutes at the counter and listened to the employees talk about their personal lives. When I asked what was taking so long, I was told there were no cars ready! Finally, I was told to go to the garage to get my car. The first car I was given had a safety recall so I was given another. The second car was missing the back of the center console!I will not be renting from Budget in the future.

When we did the reservation through priceline they I guess lined us up for a tiny car so when we went to pick up at the airport the woman let us know that the car wouldn't fit our family of 4 and our luggage so she could help us and upgrade us for $20 a day extra instead of the $40 for a full sized car which was awesome for her to do. Car wasn't cleaned when we got it the inside was full if ashes from previous renter. We took pictures of the inside and out to make sure we don't get charged for anything. But so far so good. It overall was a easy process and would definitely rent from them again.

Rented a vehicle at Boston Logan. Lines were super long. It took over 45 min to get to counter. Counter person was efficient polite and helpful. Went to garage to receive the car staff were poorly communicating. Seemed overwhelmed and car had some weird tools in it. Staff did not go over anything. After driving through the garage I noticed the gas was on 1/2 and starting mileage was noted wrong in the contract. I took a photo of the actual mileage and gas indicator. At return staff was absent. Walked to the counter and the counter staff person wanted to go out and check the car. He did and the car was gone. Good thing that I also took photo of mileage and gas level. It took about 45 minutes to complete the process and head to the shuttle. Then I get an email with an extra $85 fuel charge. It may have been corrected by now only because I took the photos on the mileage and gas. Just terrible service overall and more wasted time and hassle. Last time to use budget/Avis.Two stars only because the car was in good shape and the check out counter person was efficient. All else was a FAIL

Walked in to the rental facility, 50+ people in line. About 15 terminals, only 4 or 5 manned by reps. Waited for more than a hour, finally get to a rep. Company pre-paid for my rental, but I had to offer up my own credit card for a deposit. Apparently the card on file couldn’t be used? Whatever…grabbed my rental agreement, high tailed it out of there to jump in my car and head to my hotel, but not so fast. 10-20 folks standing in line waiting for a car. Apparently class C is popular, so much so, there were none to be found. Finally get to the front of the line after 20 minutes or so, rep looks at my agreement, hands it back to me without saying anything, moves on to the next person…okay. After about another 15 minutes, I hear the reps complaining about availability of class C cars and slow rate of turnover…getting them cleaned up and back in circulation after they’re returned by the customers. Meanwhile, all of with class C cars are standing there twiddling our thumbs. That’s when I knew I wasn’t getting to my hotel anytime soon. Another 20 minute wait, another rep finally walks up and asked what I’m waiting for, show him my agreement and told him class C. He made a comment that I’d been standing there for a while and he didn’t know why no one was taking care of me. Still no class C available, he says come with me, gives me a free upgrade and out I go. Worst experience I’ve ever had. I’ve rented from Budget in the past, never had any issues. I would probably rent from them in the future, but not if I’m traveling to Boston. Thought maybe it was a fluke…when I returned my car a week later, had to pass by the desk on my way out, took a peak at the line/counter…same story. You guys lost a lot of business that day. Lots of folks tired of waiting in line, jumped on their phones, booked with other rental agencies and dipped. Unfortunately I didn’t have that luxury, otherwise I would’ve dipped as well. PSA, renting from Budget not recommended at this location.

Our experience with Budget was a nuisance from pick-up to drop off. The lines were wildly long, and the staff were rude. They really need to hold up a flag or have lights above their counter because people were yelling everywhere and customers didn't know where to go. I asked the staff member if he recommended I pay the $14.99/day for tolls, and he said I could pay as I go.Once I filled out the paperwork and walked out to the lot, I had to wait in another long line. I've rented plenty of vehicles and this was the least efficient place. When we finally got to the car, the staff member literally wrote down the mileage and walked away. When I cranked the car, the "oil change required" notification came on.I got on the road and was immediately navigated to a toll road. Since I was advised to pay as I go, I assumed I could literally pay a toll worker (much like in other New England states). I dread the extra fees I will soon be billed from the rental due to the tolls.Once at our first stop, I tried to reverse into a spot, and the backup camera wasn't working. I am terrible at parallel parking, and not having a backup camera proved to be very stressful. When I dropped the car off a few days later, I tried to tell the worker about the oil change and back up camera and he just kept yelling to leave the keys and literally waved me on.
