Working out at NYSC for over 2 years now has been a great experience. My instructor Dominique is helping me with endurance and strength trainings that has been proving very useful in my day to day activities.

Large space, friendly staff but a lot of equipment is older and when it transitioned from BSC to NYSC a lot of machines were removed and not replaced.

Location is very convenient, people at check in desk are friendly, and changing areas are clean and well maintained. My only complaint is some of the Nautilus equipment is broken and has been broken for some time, and can't be used.?

It's a nice gym that isn't packed at peak hours. They often run out of machine sanitizing wipes and hand soap in the men's locker room. Other than that it would serve most anyone's purposes.

Middle of the pack gym for middle of the pack prices. They have a sizeable cardio area, weight machines split across two sections, about 8 squat racks, and an “open” turf area that is good for warm ups or body weight exercises. I usually go in off peak hours so have never had issues having to wait for machines. I say “middle of the pack” gym because the machines are a hodge podge of brands and newness but for $45 per month it’s a good value

UPDATE:I recently faced challenges with NYSC Allston at 15 Gorham St, highlighting serious service and communication issues. In January, I was charged $400 for personal training sessions I cannot use due to explicit medical advice against strength training. Despite providing medical documentation and being informed my account was frozen, the charge proceeded.Efforts to resolve this through discussions with management were met with inadequate responses. NYSC's recent reply suggested holding sessions for future use, ignoring my request for a refund given my permanent medical restrictions. This overlooks the essence of my situation: due to health reasons, future sessions are not just impractical; they are impossible. This experience underlines a lack of consideration for customer circumstances and health constraints. Prospective customers should weigh this aspect heavily. A gym's responsiveness and flexibility, especially regarding health-related matters, are crucial.-------Original postingI recently had a challenging experience with NYSC Allston, located at 15 Gorham St, Allston, MA 02134, that I feel is important to share. Despite the gym's convenient location and facilities, my interactions regarding customer service have been disappointing. In January, I was unexpectedly charged $400 for personal training sessions I couldn't utilize due to medical reasons—a fact that was communicated to the gym alongside necessary documentation. My doctor specifically advised against any form of strength training. Despite this, and being informed my account was frozen the charge was still processed.I attempted to resolve this issue through multiple communications with the gym's management, including the Fitness Manager, General Manager, and District Manager. Unfortunately, my concerns were met with inadequate responses, and the matter remains unresolved. While I understand that misunderstandings can happen, the lack of effective communication and resolution in this situation has been frustrating. I had hoped for a more understanding and accommodating approach from NYSC, especially given the clear medical advice.I believe potential customers should be aware of these service and communication issues when considering NYSC Allston for their fitness needs. I hope this feedback encourages NYSC to improve their customer service and handling of similar situations in the future.
