2022 UPDATE: Since my original review was posted, and the history lesson posted in response by BHN (to bury their confession that they plan to develop the land), they have worked with the DCR to install over 100 moorings with a fee and a website in place of the anchoring and fishing areas around the islands. In addition, the mooring areas are patrolled at all times via our tax dollars to ensure payment has been posted. Portuguese Cove, which was once a renowned fishing spot and covered anchorage, is now only available via website and credit card!Open Space?ORIGINAL POST: Boston Harbor Now is trying to build luxury hotels over our parks, including but not limited to Peddocks Island.Peddocks Island is a pristine wildlife area, and right now is available for everyone to enjoy.

I appreciate this organization for sponsoring so many free fitness events and fun paid events. They have really drawn my attention to the Harbor Islands and their beauty. I took advantage of the free ferry day last year and did an awesome camping trip on Peddock's Island last summer. They hosted a fun bike ride/tour of Salem Willows with ice cream and lighthouses included this summer.

Boston Harbor Now considers themselves to be “environmental stewardsâ€. That's a bold statement when they are advocating for the development of Peddocks Island. Additionally their survey is catered to their own agenda and feels one-sided. This is just another money seeking corporation that wants to pretend they care about the environment and what everyone wants (which is NOT the development of Peddocks Island).
