I would like to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the customer service I received at the AVS office located at Center Plaza. My recent experience with the representative has left me extremely dissatisfied as a monthly contract renter.Firstly, I was appalled by the unprofessional and disrespectful behavior exhibited by the representative. It seemed as though he had no regard for providing a positive customer experience. Instead of offering assistance or attempting to address my concerns, he simply stated that there was only a minivan available and left me with the ultimatum to either accept it or leave.Furthermore, this is not the first time I have encountered such issues at this particular AVS location. Despite calling one day in advance to book a car exchange, I have consistently faced difficulties and inconveniences. As a loyal customer who has chosen AVS for my monthly car rentals, I find it disheartening that my needs are not being met .

Really friendly staff and a quick turnover for the car. The cars are very clean and well maintained. They cater to our request. I would use them for my next visit as well.

These comments are specifically about our awful experience with the Boston Downtown office, the car only 1/8th of a tank of gas, meaning the obligation of properly fuelling the car became the customers (ours) immediate problem, we were offered a large minivan that was fully fuelled as an option, but this was overkill for just two people travelling, overall I found the attitude of the desk clerk was really unhelpful and dismissive, no customer service skills, just a take it or leave it attitude. The attitude of the guy in the pick-up area in the car-park was even worse, in fact shocking. He was slouched on a chair checking his smartphone, when he saw us arrive he didn't get up to greet us but waved his hand at us beckoning us to go to him, when I didn't move towards him he waved his hand again and this time actually used words/grunts to communicate instead of just waving his hand, whilst still slouched in his chair. There was no proper handover of the car, no walk-around the car to check for dents/scrapes, we were just handed the keys. The car was in a badly lit space and not easy to check properly. The car had not been cleaned, the windscreen and front end of the car were covered in dead bugs. I asked the same guy to at least clean the screen, which was done begrudgingly and a general hosing of the car with water. Our pick-up of the car seemed to be a major inconvenience to this Avis staffer and I doubt he has had any customer service training. This office and the staff are a really terrible advertisement for the Avis brand. The car itself was great and did its job, the return-handover process at Logan Airport was 100% opposite to the pick-up experience. At Logan it was slick, the Avis staffer was really polite, friendly and professional, which is what I would expect from Avis.

OK experience with some issues getting out of the garage (first 2 tickets for exiting not working, staff support limited).Car was claimed to be issue free but had some significant scratches which may have caused issues at return without LDW. Also the car started to complain about low tire pressure during our rent which I perceive as a sign of limited maintenance activities by Avis (and is difficult to rectify in the US).Nevertheless car provided was spacious as expected and provided a reasonable driving experience.

Great experience renting from Avis at the Government Center / Center Plaza location in Boston. Easy, efficient, friendly and professional. Raduoane at the desk offered excellent customer service and was able to answer all my questions (about toll roads, etc.) and the people at the car pick up / drop area were so friendly and helpful.This is my 2nd time to rent from this location & I highly recommend!It is a quick 10 minute Uber to the airport, minus the airport car rental fees & hassle!

Bad service, they try to push you any car. I rented a full size car and they tried to give me a Nissan Rogue and an Outlander. The guy at reception is not polite at all.

The Government Center Avis rental office in Boston was not a good experience. We waited over half an hour to be assisted by an agent, and when we were, we were told the only car left was a minivan, rather than the mid size car requested. Had no problems with the staff at Logan when we returned the car.

Poor service. Realized into my vacation front tires were bald, one with wires showing through, a blowout waiting to happen. Roadside emergency assistance did nothing to help my family and I. I had to call five times times only to be left with no call back or roadside help. I ended up having the spare put on at my own expense (dealer informed me I was the 5th Avis customer at his shop with tire issues just this summer) and having to stay at our hotel an extra night only to drive 99 miles out of my way on the spare to exchange the vehicle at an Avis location. I lost two days of vacation in the process. Reps at Avis were unconcerned & actually told me our ‘rescue was dropped’. How this vehicle was rented with the tires in such bad shape is inconceivable.

Ordered a full size - Camry or similar (115 cubic sq ft inferior) was given a Buick encore (92) ans told it was an upgrade. It was much smaller than what we paid for. Second time Avis has done this. Think we are done with Avis.

Rented vehicle thru Avis Boston near Govt center subway near Beacon Hill! Car was fairly dirty and only had a 1/4 of a tank of gas! They did not offer to fill or make it right! Also, do not return to airport at Boston. Traffic was terrible! Return near subway or train and take that to airport!

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and outrage regarding a recent incident that transpired at the Avis location at 1 Center Plaza, Boston, MA 02108. On Thursday May 18th, 2023 around 11:45 am, my family and I picked up a rental vehicle from your establishment, only to be subjected to a shocking display of abuse and verbal assault by an Avis parking attendant named L.A.As responsible renters, we were conducting a routine inspection of the vehicle before departing. However, L.A. approached us in a hostile manner, using abusive language and questioning our intentions for taking pictures of the vehicle. This behavior was completely unwarranted and unprofessional. To exacerbate the situation, L.A. demanded that we vacate the parking spot, despite numerous available spaces nearby. We attempted to explain our documentation process, but he remained unresponsive and continued to escalate his harassment. Not only did L.A. insult and belittle us, but he also directed foul remarks towards my wife and our entire family. This reprehensible behavior is utterly unacceptable and has left us deeply traumatized, on what is supposed to be a very special occasion celebrating my daughter’s PhD graduation. We have been loyal customers of Avis for an extensive period, both globally and at this specific location, and have never encountered such deplorable treatment anywhere before.Moreover, it is important to note that the situation became even more alarming, as L.A. displayed physical aggression towards me. He was ready to physically assault me, but thankfully, my son and other employees intervened to deescalate the situation. This incident has left us shaken and deeply concerned for our safety. Due to this distressing incident and the subsequent feeling of insecurity, we no longer feel safe returning to the Avis location at 1 Center Plaza. The actions of your employee have shattered our trust and confidence in the Avis brand. We trust that you will understand the gravity of this situation and take immediate action to address our concerns.

Easy enough to find but the guy behind the counter was so miserable and not helpful at all!We booked a Ford mustang convertible (or similar) only to be told that there is 10% chance that we will be able to get that car. They only have about 4 cars to choose from despite all the ‘options’ that they say they have online. Book from the airport for more choice.He also tried to still charge us the mustang price for a lesser car but didn’t tell us what it will be!!

This location was the worst I’ve ever experienced in USA. The car had check engine light, bumper was disconnecting from front panel, car was filthy inside and out. This is no exaggeration. The man in the garage was unpleasant and lazy. He made me feel very uncomfortable when I voiced my dislike for the car condition and asked why did I go there then. I’m not going to make this long. I would just say If you care about what your paying for and service avoid this dirty location. My drop off was just as annoying as the pick up and I will be requesting a refund.
