So the car rental was FINE, but I left my sunglasses in the center console on the marathon drive back to the airport, didn’t check the center console when cleaning out the car (it was the first time that I put anything in there the whole trip! ?♂️) and realized the next day. I filed an online report, called 7 different times and could not get ahold of a person on site. The one time that I finally got through, someone picked up the phone and immediately hung it up. They are prescription sunnies, so while I’m sure someone was very excited to pocket a nice pair of Oakleys, they aren’t going to do them any good.
As someone very sensitive to the sun, they were a prized possession of mine for years.

We were affected by the FTI bankruptcy in 2024.
Wanted to book the rental car again. However, if you booked at short notice, 9 days in advance, this was around 30% more expensive.
The child seat (rental fee approx. €80) was a cheap plastic shell with no adjustment options and no significant padding on the cover. The seat probably cost no more new than the rental fee. No help from Alamo employees with installing the American seat.
I paid the tolls via the EZ-Pass homepage. Tolls were not very high. Then there was an additional debit of around €56 from Alamo regarding toll fees. This included a “convenience fee” of $24.75 from Alamo min ☹
I couldn't figure out how a toll of €35 could come together. This COULD definitely be made more customer-friendly/cheaper.
Windshield wipers so worn that visibility was poor when it rained.
Rental car Chevrolet Malibu with approx. 70,000km driven, 21 days for 1420€ + 80 + 56 = 1556€

rented a SUV 2 months ago while travelling in Maine and Boston. Car was washed and clean just before given to me. It was a hybrid Tuson. All ppl are very helpful and friendly, especially Diana, who answered all my questions patiently and pointed me the way to entrance to car rental center to return the car(I was worrying of getting lost in the complicated exit/entrance in airport). I did not wait for car, and I am glad I switched just days before travelling from another rental company at Logan airport, for which negative comments are posted about hours of waiting, to Alamo, which never disappointed me till now, in TX, DC, Boston... I hope next trip with Alamo would also be satisfying.

What a waste of time. I drove there for more than a hour after confirming with Alamo Customer Service that I can switch the car for right class (received lower grade in Raleigh). On the spot I heard that many cars are available, but they are not swapping cars unless there is a mechanical issue. It’s not theirs problem and I should go back to NC. I guess it’s the only Alamo place which is not following Alamo’s policy. We swapped the car for right one in Manchester.

Almost completely screwed me over with my two young kids today. We ended up stranded in Boston and the workers could care less. When I asked to talk to someone else they refused to allow me to talk to someone else about the situation. Despite having a reservation, they refused me a vehicle; worst customer service ever. Rent from Avis, they were going above and beyond to help me get a rental -I couldn’t end up going with them because it was going to be 3x the price of the car I rented. I ended up having to wait 3 hrs for a bus, and buy bus tickets that were double the price of my rental car. Avoid them.
