I had a persistent issue with a leak and brought it in to diagnose. After a lot of persistence they found the leak and it turned out to be a minor autobody issue which solved the problem and was easy on the bank account. I can't thank them enough for going the distance to find the issue and fix it.

Been using A-Z for over 25 years, have found them to be very competent and priced fairly. They stand behind the job, and work to rectify any problems or misunderstanding. My first repair (other than scheduled maintenance) sold me: I was losing refrigerant in my AC with a slow leak. After locating the hole, another shop wanted to rip out a section of tubing and replace it. Billy figured out a way to seal it, saving me major $$.

I noticed that my car’s AC wasn’t turning on, which is the last thing you want to happen in the middle of the summer. A-Z Auto Center was able to take me in right away and fix the problem the same day. Everyone I spoke to was knowledgeable and kind, and the fix came at a very fair price. I was having issues with my power steering and they fixed it for a reasonable price. However, in the report they wanted to charge $150 for a multi-point inspection that included checking my battery level and fluid levels. They reported my battery level as good. I’m not sure if they actually checked my fluid levels since they recommended engine oil service by mileage but I just had my oil changed a few weeks ago. They waived the $150 inspection fee only since I did service with them. I am skeptical that they really checked my battery level though, because the next day after picking up my car, the battery in my car died and I had to get it replaced.

I will not be bringing my vehicle to AZ Auto Center for service anymore.Initially, my car failed inspection due to front end issues. That was fixed in relatively short order.Shortly after, I began experiencing steering issues and hearing a rattling noise come from the front driver's side of the vehicle any time I hit a bump. The rattling noise is documented. I asked the person working at the shop to add the steering comments to the work order as well. He assured me that he would. The comments were not added. Then, the repair timeline kept changing. I was told Thursday, then maybe Friday but probably Saturday, then didn't hear from anyone until midday on Monday.Almost $900 later, the issue still persists. There is still play in the steering wheel and there is still significant rattling, though I assume there are no safety issues since I was allowed to drive the car away.I understand that we can't tell the future, but the poor communication put me in a position where I had to scramble to find transportation for the holiday weekend. I didn't appreciate that. I also don't appreciate them giving the car back to me claiming to have fixed the issue I brought it in for when a simple road test - which was noted on the work order I have - would have revealed that the issue wasn't resolved.

Complete scam. Don't waste your time or money.As other's have noted, they charge just to look at your car and don't tell you that until after it's been done. Not only this, but the guy on the phone flat out lied to me. I told him I just wanted a quote on a brake job. He said to bring it in, they would look through the whole car free of charge, then email me what needed to be done.Low and behold, all I needed was a brake job. They quoted me $1,300 to do it, $300 above what I had already been quoted elsewhere. When I came back to get my car and tell them I wasn't going to have them do the work, he decided to charge me $77 just for looking at the car. When I told him that the guy on the phone said they would look through it for free, he immediately got defensive, raising his voice, claiming no one said that to me (they 100% did). He didn't even bother to ask the other guy on the phone right next to him if he had said that. He just jumped right into telling me I was wrong.I hope you enjoy the $80 bro, I used to buy gas from you all the time, never again.

The mechanics at this place seem to be very capable. This place deserves higher ratings. However, the receptionist was overall very unhappy, cold, not helpful to customer problems. For example, I requested information on roughly when the vehicle will be ready. She just answers “we will let you know when it’s ready”. I interacted with her several times and it has been consistently negative experience to the point that I need to communicate in a more stern manner.Service: Electrical

I've gone to A-Z Auto Center twice now; once for an oil change and the most recent time was for my car alarm. They were able to get me in for an appt within a week's notice and diagnose the car. Always professional, and always happy to help answer questions.Service: Electrical

I had a great experience with A-Z. I brought my car in around 9am on a Friday and it was fixed by 6 pm that day. Added bonus that there is a 24 hour convenience store next door where you can pay and pick up your keys after hours. I had to get my brake pads and rotors replaced and the price was fair and reasonable. They did a multi point inspection of my car and didn't pressure me into getting a couple non urgent things replaced. They also waived the 150 dollar diagnostic fee. Everyone is kind in helping figure out what is wrong when I bring in my car for repair. They are efficient with a detailed quote and make sure to confirm with you before beginning their services. I have had a lot of work done on the car from new battery to new sway bars, shock absorbers, emergency brake and tire rotation. They keep their word in terms of timing when they will be able to return the car. Excellent and quality service as always!Services: Auto battery replacement

I used AZ in the past for a lot of routine services between 2007-2011 and they did a great job. However, this comment is more for the crash repair/body work. I had a major accident in 2011 that destroyed a significant portion of the rear left quarter of my then nearly-new Ford Fusion, to the point that the repair cost was 60% of the cost of the vehicle. Unfortunately it didn’t get totaled and A-Z repaired the car. 12 years, half a career, 6 separate duty stations around the country, and 165K mostly hard city/traffic miles later and all the repairs are still holding up, the body work and paint still look great, and no mechanical issues from the crash have popped up. I’m sure some of the people who worked on it have moved on but they did a great job on my vehicle which continues to be my daily driver.

It’s a no frills place, but they do good work and are honest with price. Quick turnaround time too. Much quicker and cheaper than the dealership.

I've gone to A-Z Auto Center ever since I moved to Boston 2 years ago, and their staff is kind, upfront and has some of the best communication I've ever encountered in an auto shop.My first visit was due to my car not starting, so after towing it in, they fixed the problem, and my car started up wonderfully! However, while driving, it randomly stalled, and I had to tow it back. It turns out, a technician hadn't properly reinstalled one of the spark plugs and water got in. They fixed it free of charge, so no worries, mistakes happen!My most recent visit was because of a fuel leak, which is pretty scary. I saw the fuel dripping and decided to tow my car back in. They fixed the problem, which I was very thankful for, however within a few days I was back in with the same problem; I smelled fuel, my gas mileage was ABYSMAL, and rough idle. I bring in my car, and they say it's the spark plugs, to which I pay for the parts, leave my car for a few days, and come back to pick up my car yet the problem is still persisting and I pay for the repairs they made.Yet again, within a few more days, I bring in my car because they say they have a new fuel line.By this time it is my 3rd visit for the same problem. Still, I pay for the repairs, they tacked on a discount which was nice, however at this point I have payed over $1000 with little to no progress.I'd say I'm a loyal customer, which I have been, however there comes a point to where if the problem isn't fixed, feedback has been roundabout, and my voiced suggestions have fallen on deaf ears such as the probability of faulty fuel injectors causing rough idles, lowered fuel economy, and random stalling (sounds familiar from the first visit), that I've decided I need to change shops.Overall, these guys have outstanding customer service and it has made me want to come back time, and time again. I've been a customer of A-Z for over a decade and have used the auto repair and body shop services at 1550 and 1686 Commonwealth Ave extensively. All the staff are friendly, honest, hard working and great at diagnosing and fixing cars. They will recommend economical repair solutions when possible and will also advise you if repairs are unnecessary. Thanks to A-Z, my 2002 Subaru lasted for 17 years and my replacement 2008 Toyota is still in mint condition! I can't imagine taking my car anywhere else!
