If I could give zero stars, I would! A simple (yet, expensive at $210!) Balayage appointment turned into a color-block appointment! During the consultation I expressed to Terry that I wanted her to create blond and light brown highlights. Instead my hair came out reddish/orange and brassy because Terry did not properly remove the color from my hair (as I was told later by the reputable hairdresser who corrected her mistakes!). It also had random blotchy areas where the bleach/colorant was applied too thickly and created blocks of color in some places and other large areas had no color change. It looked very sloppy and unprofessional. I reached out to Terry and expressed my disappointment by phone moments after arriving home from the botched Balayage appointment and had a chance to really look at my hair. I requested that she fix the damage she had caused. I wanted Terry to fix the blocks of brassy and reddish color and the blotchiness of the overall look. She refused to offer any rectifying service other than more toner for an additional charge of $35. Toner will not fix hair that has not been properly lifted and the color was not properly lifted from the hair! Throughout the appointment, I was berated by Terry about using a blow dryer and/or curling iron (which I don’t do) and telling me how damaged my hair was (which it wasn’t), basically making excuses for her own hair coloring inadequacies and for the damage she must have known she was causing. Terry also added a 15% tip for herself and gave me no receipt, so this was not discovered until the payment processed on the credit card. I DO NOT recommend having your hair colored by Terry!

I had been trying to grow my hair out, and I admit I was pretty anxious as Terry chopped it all off. But, it needed it. It was uneven and had a lot of damage. Now, it's all one length, feels much healthier, and is still long enough to wear in a short curly bob. Thanks Terry, and thanks for the education. Highly recommend.

She charged me 45$ for an extremely substandard haircut, leaving my left back sticking up very incongruously. I could forgive that, but she also talked incessantly about her ideas on religion and philosophy, leaving me no chance to take part in her monologue that I kept having to listen to.

I found this salon a year ago after trying many different places and not feeling confident in any other hairdressers. Terry is amazing!!! I am glad my search is over because I won't go to anyone one else. She gives you honest opinion and great advice on how to maintain healthy hair.

I've been going to Terry for about 10 years and she is the only person I trust with my curly hair! I have moved from MA to Boston to CA and despite all the moves, she is the only person I trust with my hair. She goes above and beyond in the years that I've known her. She takes the time to teach me how to style my hair, and how to maintain the curls. She cares a lot!!!
