My husband and I drive from Andover (where we live) to Belmont about once / week to grab a bite to eat. Luckily we manage to find one hour parking on the street and that gives us some time to get something to eat and look around some stores in the area. We walked into Sophia’s Greek Pantry for the first time to look at what they offer. Their store is clean and well stocked + nicely organized. The minute we walked in, a tall woman ran toward us and we thought she wanted to offer help but it was more about making sure that we don’t steal anything because she seemed to hover around us without saying anything to us. A gentleman was arranging the olive oil bottles and he was kind enough to offer help and we appreciated it but as I turned around from where the olive oil was located, the tall woman was right behind me looking very suspicious and sadly the polite gentleman did the same. I asked my husband if he noticed the way we were observed or was it just me and he confirmed that they seemed worried that 2 elderly people walked in to rob them. Very disappointing and rude!!! Looks like you are not allowed to browse if you don’t purchase anything.

Amazing selection of desserts, groceries, grape leaves, and more. Some of the best yogurt I've ever had.

Who could have thought a simple picture would have sparked a mental breakdown in the USA, a melting pot, in a business run by immigrants! I visited the Belmont location today and ask an older, tall man if they carried this product, this is what caused his meltdown! This man started pointing to the floor and saying this cheese “would never be sold here” saying it’s “not Feta” telling me that only Greece makes real Feta. My money is for peace no matter what Country a product comes from! 2023 and we are regressing ?. Because I can not respond to you personally I will edit here! I would say post the video of him viciously pointing his finger down to the floor telling me over and over that this would never be sold in this place! It’s easy to say that I took it the wrong way ??? great PR! Good luck! PS all your 1 ⭐️ ratings are because of your rude staff, that might be something you look into deeper!

I went on a trip to Cyprus last year and stayed on the Greek side of the island where I fell in love with the food. When I got back to Boston I HAD TO find somewhere that sells Greek products. This market has been on my to-go list for this past year and I finally made it here this past weekend. It's small store yet has so many variety of items you'll probably spend most of your time debating with yourself which to get over the other. Wide selection of honey, olive oils, cheeses, olives, breads etc. We bought the 2% greek yogurt which we were told is a customer favorite. And my God I've never tasted a yogurt like this before. I didn't even bother to sample the others. It was $4.59/lb and we got the 32oz container. And we also got a small pack of their granola which is so good I regret not getting the larger bag. We bought some fresh Feta which'll last up to 6months in the fridge and halloumi from the fridge section. Also got garlic hummus I had last night with some pita bread we bought from the store and it was good. We also tried some of their pastries which were delectable. I asked the lady by the cash register if the Indiana is the same thing as kok which I made sure to pronounce correctly and she took her by surprise and asked if I was Greek too and I said sadly no. Haha Everyone in the store was friendly and helpful. I will be back!

My friends had been telling me for years that I had to try this place. So I finally stopped in one day. Sophia's is a Greek specialty store unlike any I have seen before, this is the first one I have ever been to. I had no plan on what to buy so I walked around to see what they had. The place is stocked with goodies, oils, house made yogurt, premade foods, hummus and I could go on and on. I decided on a small thing of plain non fat yogurt, red pepper hummus, pita chips and some pita bread. The pita chips were delicious especially when paired with the red pepper hummus. The hummus is some of the best I have ever had. The pita bread, not house made, was great, made Greek wrap with it minutes after I got home. The yogurt was ok. Everyone raves about the yogurt but I guess I'm not a yogurt guy. The staff was nice and the place was clean. I will definitely stop in again to try some of the different olive oils and grab some more pita chips and hummus.

The best Greek yogurt in Massachusetts with an incredibly good variety love stopping by there on lunch break. If I never go to Greece again, this yogurt is literally no different from what you would get in Greece same quality and same taste!!!!

Beware the yogurt. I’ve been a customer for a very long time. Sad to say that I've had 2 recent incidents of yogurt spoiling early. The first time I called and was told that the citrus flavors sometimes go bad quicker than the others so I stopped buying those. Last week I bought two flavors-blueberry and honey vanilla. I used a cooler bag and brought them home to Belmont immeadiately. The blueberry went bad after just one week. The container expanded, with the cover almost popping off in the refrigerator. The texture had changed - to a yeasty texture, like bread rising, and the taste went acidic. I did call to tell them and I do hope they address it.

Best place to get greek yogurt hands down (& in bulk!). Dangerously delicious milk chocolate bars also available here at the register counter.

Scam artist. The owner lies and says she makes the yogurt. The yogurt brand is called Karoun you can search it and buy it wholesale which is what she does then lies and says she makes it. She needs to be sued for fraud.

Simply the best. It’s hard to find Bulgarian food/cooking ingredients outside the country but Sophia’s has a lot, and we come weekly. Their greek yoghurt is amazing as well!
