Been taking my cars to Joe and the guys at Quabbin Service Center for close to a decade. They are friendly and knowledgeable and all around great to deal with. They often put in extra hours so that you don’t have to go without your car any longer than needed despite them always having a lot full of cars that need work.

I don't actually think they do or provide any service there, except for state inspection. I can never get hold of anyone, or no one returns your calls or messages unfortunately. Waited two weeks, now having to go somewhere else.

I had an issue with my vehicle (wouldn't start) and had it towed here as I wanted to use and support a local business. The owner Joe texted me back and forth with updates that my starter needed to be replaced. I added other additional work (oil change, tire alignment) and consented to things Joe offered to replace (wipers, air filter, front tires). However, when I got the invoice, I was shocked at the charge of the starter which was listed as "reman" short for remanufatured. I looked online at prices for a replacement remanufactured starter for my particular vehicle brand/year and saw that prices were between $75-$150 from national car part centers like NAPA or Autozone. I was being charged $460 for this part. I confronted Joe about this in person (he didn't respond to my texts), and he did drop the charge for the part by $100. I then looked at all the other parts listed in the invoice and compared with prices online from car part centers. Every part listed was upcharged from 25%-100%. I understand prices have gone up due to inflation, but I think I will not use this local business again due to lack of transparency around their parts costs and passing the costs to the customer. This is just my experience and I'm sure others have had a more positive experience. Additionally, I do not dispute the quality of the work that was done as it does appear everything was done that was asked and done appropriately.

Suggest you call ahead for inspections. I arrived a little before 3:00 and they had stopped doing inspections for the day. Their websites says 4:00, but when they are busy with repairs they stop inspection.

Our van broke down on our way home from a dog training seminar and the owner helped us out although they were about to be closed. Wonderful customer service, great experience despite our circumstances! Thank you!
