About Mass Audubon Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary

Mass Audubon Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary is a beautiful and peaceful area offering a variety of natural attractions. Visitors can enjoy picturesque views of Barnstable Bay, the lighthouse, and Sandy Neck Beach, especially at low tide when plenty of shoreline is available for exploring or sunbathing. During high tide, it’s an excellent spot for fishing for strippers. The sanctuary features well-maintained walking trails through fields and forests, including an all-access path with great views and a boardwalk over marshes. There are also opportunities to see a purple martin colony, bees, and butterfly gardens, particularly during butterfly season. The grounds include a nature center with a terrific view and facilities such as clean bathrooms and water fill-up stations. Parking is limited near the beach, but ample parking is available at the sanctuary for a fee. Visitors are encouraged to respect others, carry out trash, and enjoy the beauty of the area quietly. Nearby attractions include Millway Beach for sunset views and local dining options with live music. Overall, the sanctuary offers a lovely experience for nature lovers and those seeking scenic vistas.
