Got off the Hyline just to rush to the steamship so we’ll have our car early before it gets busy. We booked online before hand fyi. But when got there we waited almost 30 minutes with the desk agent nowhere to be found. 3 other customers in line behind us also waiting. After calling multiple times still no sign of him. We walked upstairs and outside and nothing. Once he showed up he was very unapologetic. Didn’t say sorry or anything. We got our car 5-10 minutes after he finally showed up. We contacted Avis customer service and they gave us free car rental credit for our next trip so I gave two stars besides one. If you are in any sort of rush or set to a schedule, you are better off paying slightly more with thrifty or enterprise. Then you’ll be guaranteed to have a car on time

The location is good, but the service needs some improvement. Also, sometimes you have to wait a while before they get you the car you reserved. Since they get the cars from the airport location, you have to wait until they deliver the car to the steamship location. Overall, it's ok.

Buyer beware: they allow reservations but then they run out of cars. Lots of people were simply stranded after coming off the Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard ferries.

DON’T RENT A VEHICLE FROM HERE, HORRIBLE SERVICE. THEY ARE RUDE AND HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING. ONE EMPLOYEE WILL TELL YOU ONE THING WHILE ANOTHER EMPLOYEE TELLS YOU SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE MY $250 DEPOSIT BACK ITS BEEN 2 WEEKS NOW. CUSTOMER SERVICE WON’T HELP EITHER. AWFUL SERVICE!!!

Had a confirmed reservation and even used the online check-in feature. Upon arrival I was told there were no cars available: my name was not on the manifest. Apparently any reservation booked within the 24-hour scheduled pick up time, will not show on the all-important manifest due to a processing lag inherent to an old system Avis chooses to use. Thankfully, the agents really tried to help and found a car at their other sold-out location. I give 5 stars for personnel, 0 stars for a corporation that submits its customers to continued grief. This problem is not new.

Please check my review history, I rarely leave anything but high-star reviews. Avis has a new strategy to trick people into fees. It used to be insurance, now it's "toll" or "daily convenience fee toll counter product". When I rent with ANY other agency, the toll function is automatic, and I happily pay the tolls as they are tabulated, plus a one or two dollar fee, no problem. Recently another company dropped the ball and I had to use Avis for the first (and last) time in years. When they ask, "will you be driving through tolls?", what they are ACTUALLY asking is, 'would you like us to charge you $14.99 per day just in case you go on a toll?' I wasn't within 20 miles of a toll road for over a week, and Avis still charges for "Toll Service". Emails to customer service were about at dismissive as you could expect. The onus is on me, I now remember why I pay extra not to use companies like

Was pure awful what she did to us I will be reviewing your company until something is resolved I did not have clear direction on were to park and my car got towed because Stephanie's comprehension level is like a first grader if this does not get resolved you maybe hearing fr my lawyerKeep that in mind

This message is for Stephanie.So we have a few issues here I think should be address to your comprehension level. This was the worst experience I have ever had with costumer service.Let's see what you did wrong here I can possibly name a few errors right off the bat that you will lose your job over.1. My husband explained had an ID that you typed you that was expired and he was going to give you my information but ended up his name for the driver instead of me.2. The car you gave us was not a Honda and honestly was some of the worst driving experience I had with a car.3. You literally said I could park in the avis spot until I returned the car. But instead you cost me 237 to bail my car out.4. I would love to let you know you may not have your job because your judgement is very poor and you were trying to cover your own d*** self to stay out of trouble.This however should never happened and I expect a refund if not upper management will know about your costumer service level avoid this location at all cost have a nice day Stephanie.

Worst experience with a rental car company ever read all my post and I would love to have this resolved and you will never hear frome again. Felt like a second class citizen you may want to review Stephanie's skill and costumer service because she is not equipped for this job.

I long for the days with proper staffing when one called local dealer and got local dealer, not somebody iverseas with minimal grasp of english language, and in times of emergency it does mayter
