Went in to make an exchange for my mom who bought a dress for thanksgiving. She needed a different style and I tried to exchange the first one for a second of lesser value. The rude cashier with a heavy accent told me exchanges were not allowed and the second dress would be a separate purchase. Because my mom and her card were not present because it's an exchange at lesser value, only the difference should have been refunded, not a second transaction where it came from the person running the errand. I don't accept macys charge as payment so now my mom has to pay me back in cash. I can see why this location has a very low rating. Also a guy with a long line did point us in her direction and made a joke about her making the return "if she felt like it", so I know I'm not the first with a problem with her.

Milena Paz is the reason I'll be back at Macy's Auburn, Ma store soon! Such a wonderful experience with this prized employee. She helped me locate the bracelet I wanted, gave me options on shipping and availability, and smiling and knowledgeable throughout . A joy ?

I was very frustrated with the service of Macy's. There was an advertisement that (name) was on sale that said it was 50% off, but when I went to pay for it, the cashier said it was only 25% off. The cashier and I went to the rack where the clothes were found with all the same pieces of clothing 50% off. She pulled out the tag that said 50% off and replaced it with a 25% off. The cashier said "you don't like the price, return it". The customer service of that cashier was very unprofessional, and then she complained about me to another employee.

Macy's, located in the Auburn Mall, is the last water tight cargo hold in a regional mall vessel that has been sinking for some time. And Macy's water tight gaskets are leaking badly. Their stock price performance over the last 5 years, from over $60 a share to under $15 a share, mirrors the feeling when you walk into this store. It feels as if this department store was relevant at one time, but no longer so today.Macy's reminds me of Jordan Marsh, twenty years ago, when you would walk into a maze if cramped aisles of cosmetics, clothing, shoes, outer wear and more, that are like puzzle pieces trying to create some sort of picture, yet the pieces don't seem to fit. There are very few staff available to assist or to ring up the occasional order. And inventory seems to present another challenge.I purchased some socks here, something that can be easier to do in person than online. I liked the socks and came back a week later to buy some more. They were no longer in inventory, and I was instructed to buy them online. I couldn't find them on their website, and was not surprised to find out they were recently hacked. "We are aware of a highly sophisticated and targeted data security incident related to macys.com that affected a small number of customers during a one-week period in October," the company said in a statement.Some retailers may continue to survive, Target reported some positive numbers in their recent quarter. But for stores like this Macy's, they are going to need to reinvent themselves to succeed. However, on the bright side, there's plenty of parking here! I guess it's like a bad restaurant, you won't find a good meal, but you will find a Groupon and plenty of parking!

Store is deserted and that's with 30% off on many items. Here is one reason: In men's shirts. Can't find a white dress shirt with French cuffs. Ask sales clerk and she tells me that she doesn't know what I mean. Tell her cuff links. She tells me the various brands. She's just reading the signs to me. "we have some short sleeves". Her exact words!! I tell her I will need long sleeves for the French cuffs. "I'm not certain we have that". Never mind. I leave. Hey Macy's execs, you really wonder why your stores are circling the drain? Train your employees before you place them in a department. Too many other stores or even internet to be bothered with Macy's.

The last time I was at the Auburn Macy's I asked the overworked salesperson if there are no salespeople because there are no customers OR no customers because there are no salespeople? It's too bad but I seldom bother anymore.
