Kimmy and Erica are the best! I bring my pup here every month to have her nails trimmed and wouldn't even consider going anywhere else. They are incredibly efficient and always make my girl feel at ease.

It's now 2023 and we're STILL going to Shaggy Chic. Kim still does a terrific job! She and Pepper, her assistant, have my Cooper bathed and groomed in an hour! But, most importantly, Cooper likes them. No cages are used which is a big deal for Cooper. He was a rescue from an Amish puppy mill where he spent the first 6 months of his life in a cage! That was more than enough, and I promised him no more cages! Before I found Kim, about 10 years ago, it took the groomers 3 hours AND, when I pushed my way into their grooming area, I saw cages upon cages filled with dogs. I think poor Cooper was terrified that he was back in a puppy mill. When I saw that, I understood why he wouldn't walk in on his own. I asked if he could join the Doggie Day Care until it was his time and they said no! I would have to pay for a full day's care! I was NOT happy! And that's when I accidentally drove by Shaggy Chic. It was a very happy accident! Kim and Pepper really care about the animals they groom, and it shows. Over the years word has spread, and right now they're not accepting new clients. My best friend was very happy that she became a client shortly before they had to stop accepting new clients. So, keep them in mind for the future. I, for one, intend to keep right on going every 6 weeks with Cooper, and whatever other pup(s) may come into my life. Thanks, Kim & Pepper, for the great job you have done all these years, and continue to do, for my Cooper!

We're so glad we found this place about 6 months ago and have been bringing "Dash" every few weeks since. Kim and her assistant are very nice and Kim's definitely skilled with the clippers. Like many reviewers say, they are fast, and it's certainly not because they cut corners. It's probably because Kim waits until the end of the day to call people back who are looking to schedule. Perhaps those who complain about her "never answering the phone" should try and make the connection between her lack of immediate availability and how quickly she does a great job. She actually does use her phone during business hours...when she calls you 2 hrs (or less sometimes) after you've dropped off your dog to let you know he/she is ready.

Kim is fantastic! I bring her two large, high energy dogs and they always come out looking great. She usually has them done within 1-2 hours, which no other groomer has ever done usually they're there for four +. Way less stressful on the dogs and they're always excited to go! Highly recommend Shaggy Chic to anyone who has grooming needs!

I had obtained a new puppy shortly after my 16 year old dog had died. I had always brought my previous dog to Petco for her grooming needs most of her life. She never seemed happy to go. She would respond like she was going to the vet. Scared, tremulous. I just figured that was the normal response to the situation and she would just have to deal much like when she needed to go to a vet.One day I noticed this grooming shop within walking distance from my home when I was walking my new puppy. I figured I would check out the reviews on-line. I was pleasantly surprised to see how good the reviews were because the shop looks not much bigger than a large shed and was on a side street that is surrounded by 3 family homes. I figured I would give this place a chance. One of the reviews that stuck out most was the comment about the dogs not being caged and the dog not being there for many hours.I called and left a message. I received a call back in a few days from the owner/groomer, Kim. I was surprised that she took that long to respond but at the same time I viewed the situation as “good for her for promoting a healthy work life balance. (Positive view) A well rested happy groomer will make a happy pup.Anyway, I booked the first appt which was a few weeks out. (Hard to wait in a society of corporate competition and instant gratification)I was glad I decided to be patient. It was so worth it for the overall well being of my pup. I had never experienced a time in the past where my dog seemed excited to go to the groomer. This has been a very pleasant new experience. My dog gets completely groomed in about 1.5 hours. He looks amazing each time and most importantly, he is happy.I had got use to dropping off and picking up 4 hours later for grooming appts in the past and my dog acted as if I had done a horrible thing to him just like when I brought him to a vet.I was happy to see Kim has a casual relaxed atmosphere for my pup to sniff out the environment. No other dogs are there, except maybe I, at an occasional time when I drop him off.I now have another new pup and, of course I bring her there now too. I think Kim is in high demand and where she is only 1, you must not expect to get in for appointments right away. She is worth the wait and will schedule you ahead for your next appt so you can stay on a consistent schedule. She does a great job and has competitive rates. This review represents a year past of her grooming my sweet pups.Thank you Kim for providing an alternative environment and grooming experience that focuses on promoting happiness and decreasing anxieties, for our furry best friends. ?

Kim is very knowledgeable and thoughtful. I took a pair of emotionally traumatized rescues to her for their first grooming visit. She and her associate were patient and kind. We were very impressed!

I called a week ago and left a voicemail and haven't gotten a call back yet. I messaged them on Facebook a few days later and no reply on that either. They were the highest rated so I wanted to do business with them but now I will not.

Kim is the best! I took Winnie, my 12 lbs shih tzu/chihuahua mix to her after a very bad experience at PetCo. Kim explained everything and took very good care of her and her hair comes out amazing every time. My husband and I moved an hour away and we drive to her every time.
