I’ve lived in Ashland for many years but never realized how many great local businesses there are until I made a point of doing a bit of homework and actually seeking them out. This service shop certainly seems to be one of those hidden gems. I got an oil change for my 2013 Subaru Legacy and had them check out the car in general. A Subaru dealer tried to scam me for $7000 worth of repair work, but the ASC mechanic confirmed what I felt from driving the car — everything is fine. But I do need a new set of tires and will have ASC do the work. The service manager, Bob, has been there for 30+ years. The shop does a brisk business and obviously has a regular customer base. Probably not the cheapest place to get service; but in a time when people aren’t so invested in having long term relationships with their customers, it’s great to do business with people who care.

Been a loyal customer for 4 years, but now after finding a local mechanic it’s clear that I’ve been getting scammed by Bob all along.
If you have a fairly nice or expensive cad, he will try and hose you out of your money saying you need work done when you really don’t.
I needed a patch in my exhaust, he said my whole exhaust needed replacing.
I needed a brake flush, he said I needed new calipers and charged me $900 for just the front ones.
I said my brakes were grinding and need pads, he said I needed new pads and rotors and charged me $1400.
He also says explicitly that he doesn’t upcharge on parts.. LOL!
He’s a likable guy, but a true slime ball and shouldn’t be trusted

Pat is very knowledgeable on heavy duty trucks, diesels, also classic cars and even today's cars and SUVs. He's very straightforward and honest. He had my truck for a very difficult issue, since he spent so much time on it, he gave me parts of cost and only 4 hours of Labor where he had probably 30 or more into it.

I really can't say enough good things about Ashland Service center!Last week my family of 5 and our dog were driving home to NJ from NH and our car broke down. Thankfully we were at a reststop when it died and not on the highway somewhere. It took quite a while to get a tow due to being on a highway that required us to go through the state police dept and they then send the tow. We were tired and just wanted to be home. We called a few repair places on the AAA list and no one seemed eager to help until we talked to Bob at Ashland Service Center. We discussed what happened and decided that is was likely the alternator. Bob said that as soon as he got the car in his shop he would confirm the diagnosis. When we arrived he had one of his bays open and waiting for our Honda mini van. Bob had already found and alternator at a nearby parts distributor and had it on hold for us. We walked to a nearby pizzeria and had something to eat, outside tables thankfully because we had the dog. When we returned it was a short wait talking to Bob about vacations and soon our car was ready. They replaced the alternator, a belt, the battery and brake light that had burned out. Two hours from our arrival at the shop to us waving goodbye and continuing home. If you need car repairs done, then go to Ashland Service Center. Bob and his friendly staff were the best! I wish we could use them all the time but we live too far away!

I had a fantastic experience at Ashland Service Center. Bob and his team are fantastic and did an efficient job replacing and realigning my tires. Billy was great. Wouldn’t have gone anywhere else. Couldn’t recommend more. Thank you all!!!

Even though the garage had a full schedule when I had my vehicle towed there without warning, Bob worked hard to get the work done that day and it was ready a few hours later. I'll definitely return for future repairs!Service: Auto maintenance
