Prices are out of control. I swear they don't want to sell their products. Been a customer for many many many years on automatic delivery and always just trusted they were competitive (my a few cents) with other companies. My fault I didn't keep a closer eye on the pricer per gallon like I should have. Well, last year I thought there was a mistake due to the price of a delivery. When I checked the price per gallon they were 30 cents more per gallon than the competition. When I asked if there was an error they said nope. Well, case and point, as of today, 12/15/23, their price is $4.349/gal. while Huhtala/Haffner's is at $3.599. 75 CENTS MORE PER GALLON! Or $112.50 more for 150 gallons! Ridiculous! It pays to shop prices if on auto delivery!

Last summer Roy Brothers filled our oil tank when our tank was already filled. Under 10 gallons of oil was spewed all of our basement, all of the outside of our house, all of the gardens contaminating the soil. The oil in the basement leaked into the French drain. After an hour two men finally showed up they didn't even work for Roy Brothers they were just on call for a fire station. They were there for hours on end on a Friday night my husband ultimately showed them how to pick up the oil correctly using a block of wood and kitty litter. They were ready to leave the job unfinished. Nobody would tell me who was going to remediate the soil in the garden and oil that had dripped down into the foundation. Nobody from Roy brothers ever called us not once after that incident. The fumes from the fuel smelled up our kitchen, living rooms and bedrooms for up to a month. Worst month of our lives. And the kicker is we still have to pay for all that oil because they won't discuss the bill with us!

If I could leave zero stars I would. Absolutely terrible company. Rude, not understanding. When we bought our house, we had to use this company because the tanks were already installed. They were charging DOUBLE the price for propane compared to all local competition. After refusing to deliver us propane in the dead of winter because we hadn't paid off the 1,000 first fill up. They threatened to "lock our tanks" which is illegal because we have a baby in the house and I WAS MAKING PAYMENTS on my balance. Then I called to no longer receive fill ups because we were switching companies, they came and delivered again! Against our wishes and slapped me with another $600. Then they charge a fee to pick up the tanks when you cancel. THE TANKS ARE THEIR PROPERTY. . We finally switched to a much better local company with no issues.

Ran out of propane they said I couldn't get delivery until next week some time or if I want it I have to pay 200 fee really? Been with this company 20 years they said in 2018 I missed a payment 3 months ( my mother died was helping my father ) but no excuse,ok so I now have to pay in advance and still won't get it until next week some time just feel like they don't really care at all

Boiler was not working, no hot water or heat. Called service department. Was transferred to DEE apparently she was of that day. So no call back to scheduled and confirm service call. Called back to follow up and was transferred to another. Got voicemail. Left message. Still no call back. Finally called and got Linda this time explained issue. She said some one will call. That never happened. Then my ring rood bell showed a tech had shown up. Figured out issue, but could not test because Roy Bros allowed me to run out of oil. I am on automatic delivery and pay budget payments and have a credit. How does this happen??? Ok called and got Linda again. Told her the oil issue and she was very rude and dismissed me and terminated call. Being a customer for 37 years I did not expect this disrespect. Lesson learned. Company has be sold and has new management although many employees have remained the same but their attitude sure has changed . Being loyal for so long but moving on to an other company may be the best when my contract ends. We will see. Maybe I will change my mind? They don't even have the best prices. But stayed loyal.

Nightmare! Charge me over 50% more for pipe installation than originally quoted. After multiple contacts they made a minor adjustment, but would never provide me with a parts list to verify what was used. I had change the job for piping to be inside the home in the foul weather and it should have been easier install. Two servicemen enjoyed being inside out of the cold on my dime. A few months later I purchased a tank from another vender in Barre. Found out then I was gouged on the fuel too. Cost for fuel was $3.189 per gallon, new company cost was $1.713. If that is the kind of service and charge you are looking for go with them. Otherwise do you homework and contract elsewhere. Totally disappointed after having been a previous customer for over ten years the family owned Roy Bros Oil. Total disgusted with the service and lack of fairness this company has exhibited. And just for the record they are correct, I changed the line from running outside of the house in the freezing weather to running it inside in a heated space that was an easier installation. Consumer Beware! Finally the icing on the cake. After purchasing a new 500 gallon tank and having it installed by another company it took them several months to take their tank away. They charged me $150.00 to remove it claiming I had agreed to that fee, which I never did. They sent me a copy of their terms from the website which I never clicked agreed to. The office staff was no help in resolving the matter, nor was the headquarters, which was near impossible to get a return call from. My warning stands! Consumer Beware! This is not the old fair minded family owned Roy Bros. Oil.

we have been waiting months for them to come out. I have called for three weeks straight and cannot get a confirmation for when they will be here. I recommend you go with literally anyone else
