I was motivated to try the Clip Joint because I've noticed beautiful dogs all over the Cambridge / Arlington area, and whenever I ask their owners who grooms them, they always said Julie @ Clip Joint. My Bichon is 6 months old, and the first groomer we went to (not Clip Joint) charged extra for "bad behavior". I thought this was a red flag as my girl is so well behaved, even though she doesn't love being washed and trimmed she definitely tolerates it. I warned Julie of this, and she sent me the sweetest text about how well behaved she was. I was super pleased with this experience & I will be returning over and over and over again. So happy our girl is in the hands of someone we trust so well. Thank you Julie & team! (Totally blanking on her helpers name, Jordan maybe??) anyways can't wait to come back, she looks so beautiful and smells so good without it being overpowering and I can tell my girl feels so pretty too!!!!!

CASH ONLY. Berta said it would be $70. But when she called to say my dog was ready she said she would have to charge me $80 because she had to wash him twice as he was so dirty. To be clear Berta was the one to intake my dog and we spoke extensively in person while she held him. To be fair my dog got a decent cut and looked very clean. Also, I usually tip pretty well (is 20% enough?) but again I only had the cash I had already planned on. If you don’t want my business just say so. I can’t go back to a place that is so unprofessional. Someone PLEASE recommend a decent and honest groomer.

During Covid I understand small businesses are struggling... I brought my cat here for the first time for a trim and unfortunately will not be returning. It would be one thing if we asked to have our cat shaved like this but this was not the intention. It would be another thing if the cut looked professionally don't but it's uneven and quite terrible. My cats arms and legs have fur blotches and his tail looks ridiculous. A few of his nipples were very irritated and pink. The worst part is I know my cat and I know he must not have been comfortable during this process and that has been haunting me. My mother didn't request a refund because she's a nice person - if it were me. I would've requested a lot more. I've never seen a cat cut like this. It's not cute. When we called back to see what happened someone on the line said "well we can't put the fur back on" Finally, I looked through your photos and all the cats seem to have pretty normal looking trims - instead of offensive shaves. Not sure if my cat was a guinea pig for a new employee or what the case was but unsatisfied is an understatement. Do better. Not recommended.

We've taken our long haired cat here twice. Both times it was just as we could hope for. She gets a lion cut, nails trimmed, ears cleaned, and a bath. As you can imagine she doesn't like any of those, but the team at the Clip Joint manage very well. The price was as expected for Boston area, and it took about two hours from drop off to pick up (although they will call you when it's about 20-30 minutes from finish). They do have COVID procedures, no customers allowed inside and you hand off your pet in their carrier outside the front door.

I really wanted to like this place because the girl was super friendly, We brought our shepherd in to get her nails cut but my pup was pretty squirmy....We finally got her on the table to have them done and when I looked at them they were pretty hacked....I asked her if they usually round them off but I felt like she rushed them. She should have just taken another 5-10 min to grind them down further not cut but just grind them.I ended up going to Petco to have the girls fix them and they also asked me why she didn’t grind them down further. So after 75.00 later her nails look perfect.

This is a GREAT place that always takes the utmost care with our cat. I should also mention that our cat is IMPOSSIBLE when he's there so there are times when his grooming is not perfect but it's always excellent. They do a better job than anyone else we've tried and they are very sweet with him. I should also mention that from time to time ALL animals that get groomed will get nicked and the groomer will not always know this happened. This happened once and they took care of it in a very professional manner. This is a really good small local business that is likely going to struggle with all that's going on right now and would be a shame if they are no longer around so please support them whenever you can

Great work done here! Prices are fair too for the quality of work and the kindness of the people here. My puppy comes back happy and well groomed. I do wish there was an option for all day drop off but I understand that wouldn’t be possible for this smaller shop. Highly recommended.

Super helpful is cutting our cat’s nails when we had let them grow way to long. Kind and gentle and professional!

My cat had a lion cut done and his leg was gouged in the process. Groomer said nothing about it at pick-up and charged 80.00 for the service.
