I go here a lot (this is my throwaway account) but I had to make a review. The staff are friendly, they are helpful, good at accommodating and are cleanly. They're organized and smaller compared to their bigger location. But it feels like walking into a piece of culture. Their food, fresh, daily, reduced price at the end of the day and are to die for with Onigiri and bowls. They have fresh ingredients and the latest snacks to cooking ingredients you'd ever need from them. Go here if you love Japanese food and need genuine products. They are the highest quality and I love them more than H-Mart. Don't get me wrong H-Mart is good but Maruichi has EXACTLY what i look for. Look no where else but here I'm telling you .

The place is run by senior, extremely nice and polite, gentleman (Tom). He might not be the fastest, nevertheless, let his age or speed not fool you. He is definitely a highly skilled master and his results exceed with wide margin IMO, common industry standards (seen him cut many customers). Extreme attention to details, you going to get full luxury service, old school way, with excellent outcome practically guaranteed (at least, as long as you are Caucasian male, and looking for cut fitting white tie event. Not sure does he do woman or Afro-Americans. Perhaps he does, just never seen any in his place). I live quite a distance from him, his hours collide with my work schedule, often time, I’m time pressed, while he is not the fastest. Nevertheless, despite all this, I get all my haircuts, for few years now, with him exclusively. His person is reminiscent to me a bit, of an old Japanese master. Very rooted in old traditions and ways, with skills sets mastered to a level of an absolute perfection. I honestly consider him THE BEST barber I ever get my hair cut by, in 50+ years of my life. Besides, he is also just very down to Earth, sweet person. As long as you not in rush, STRONGLY recommended.

A wonderful Japanese food store. They are not as large as Hmart, but they are much more focused on Japanese food items: frozen udon packs, frozen gyoza and other types of dumplings, dry instant ramen, spices and sauces, matcha and other tea, sweets, treats, and a fairly comprehensive refrigerated section for meats, natto, etc.
There's a variety of Japanese rice, which alone makes it worth the trip. Aside from Hmart, I don't know of another store that offers this many options for rice – sushi rice, unmilled rice, organic, etc. If you're not sure what type to get, knowledgeable staff will assist.
There's also some kitchen utensils, sushi and onigiri making tools, and other sundries.
Speaking of sushi and onigiri, these prepared foods are also provided, for reasonable prices. They are freshly prepared and I can say, it's some of the better sushi I've had. You can also get sushi-grade fish including salmon and tuna. The onigiri (rice balls wrapped in seaweed) are fresh and delicious.
Highly recommended.

Why would you go to this tiny corner store vs the giant Hmart supermarket not far away?Well, their stuff is actually made in Japan for the most part, not Chinese or Thai knockoffs of the original. You might pay a bit more but it's totally worth it.The food, including sushi and sashimi, is surprisingly fresh.

Fantastic selection of ready-to-eat lunches, made just before the lunch rush starts. Maki sushi, chirashi bowls, gyuudon, chicken karaage, tempura shrimp. And plenty of Japanese groceries as well. They recently began milling their own grades of rice, which I'm excited to try!

Small Japanese grocery store carrying a little bit of everything. Most things are labeled in English, and the staff members are helpful if you need to ask a question. Great sushi.

Great selection of high quality ingredients! It can be hard to find things if you don’t read Japanese but it’s still approachable enough to find your way.
