These folks do wonders with all types of hair. I always leave feeling glam, and get compliments on my haircut. Also, Barbara, the owner, is fast and efficient.... and fun. The salon has some later hours, too, which can be really helpful.

So for many years, i got highlights/ balayages. I've been pretty blonde in the past. My hair isn't dark brown or black so I've never had an issue going blonde or getting highlights before. Back in December, i had the worst haircut/ highlight job that I've ever had done by Rebecca. I previously had hair down to my hips and asked for chest length cut with bangs. She said "sure!" Then Proceeded to cut it all off. Instead i walked out with a Karen bob (i literally had to tell the stylist to stop cutting. It was so short in the back that i almost couldn't put it up in a ponytail) and cruella deville highlights. I went back the next day because i was so sad/ disappointed and one of the owners dyed over it to get rid of the highlights. I wasn't happy but whatever. I was still polite but obviously upset. They gave me a gift card to come back so i took the risk and went again yesterday. I was looking to go blonder than I've ever gone before and get rid of the bad dye job/streaky highlights that were coming thru. The other owner did my hair. She was nice enough but very sarcastic. She didn't listen to what i wanted, proceeded to do her own thing, and was going very fast (felt rushed. Usually when i get a balayage, I'm there for a couple hours. I was in and out in an hour)... I get that you need a base to go blonde but in the light today, my hair almost feels darker despite the balayage i paid for yesterday. I told her i was open to a lot but didn't want brassy and wanted the roots to almost be "grown out" so that i didn't need to keep up the color. Her response was "thank god I'm wearing a mask, bc you'd see me mouthing "i don't know what the f*** you're talking about."" I had sent her pictures of the last time i got highlights there and she was like well what didn't you like about it? Umm are you kidding/blind? Lol. When i told her that the 2" of roots on the front of my head were bleached and i looked like a skunk when i put my hair up, she was like "well, that's what highlights/ foils are." I was honest with her that this wasn't as blonde as i wanted, and her response was "yeah, but i didn't want to do something drastic and have you overreact again." That response was what made me write this review. Ummmm.... Last time your stylist cut off almost 12 inches when i asked for a trim. I didn't say anything but I'm really annoyed that this salon refuses to listen to their clients. Spent over $200 on top of the gift card for something i didn't want. She did a decent job but for the price i expected better... not to mention it's not what i wanted at all. So I'm still unhappy with the color. Even though, it's a lot better than last time, it's still not what i want. Do i give them a chance to fix it... again? Or just give up and go somewhere else?

I had a hair cut with Kylie and it was a great experience. She washed my hair carefully and added conditioner. She paid attention to my request as far as the length of my hair to be maintained and after hair cut, she applied some spray to reduce the frizzy hair section and then did blow dry. I like my hair style. I do recommend her work.

Kayla took her time and gave me the red/auburn balayage of my dreams. I came on a Groupon, but I'll be back!

Booked an appointment with Horizon and was 7 minutes late as I went to their old location. They cancelled the appointment saying it's only a 15 minute appointment for each haircut, which does not feel right in itself. Do not go here for haircuts and waste your time. Find a better place which can be more accommodating.

They actually have moved to a newly renovated and well kept location at 1309 Massachusetts Avenue. I easily found free parking right across the street. I was greeted promptly and courteously by Barbara who was wearing her mask properly. She politely advised me on the COVID requirements, asking me to sanitize my hands and keep my mask on. She then took my temperature, sanitized the chair and got me in a fresh smock(?) and towel. She then asked how I wanted it cut, listened, and cut my hair exactly right, even asking if I wanted any changes before cleaning up. She somehow did it without disturbing my mask at all. When I got up, she sterilized the chair again and discarded the items she had put on. Easy parking, taken on time, treated like family, got a great cut and felt completely safe at all times. GO HERE!
