I have a pair of Topsides whose soles cracked and fell apart recently. Though several years old, the rest of the shoes was in very good shape. I look up online to see if they could be resoled and found some good info. One said resoling requires a lot time and much skill so comes at a cost: about $95. As was p pointed out, I could get a new pair for that. However, I hate throwing out anything if it can be repaired so took them in to Arlington Shoe Repair. I've had good service there before so I was hopeful. Well, I got the shoes today and am so impressed with the resoling--just like new! He took the time to find the best sole, rejecting several before finding the perfect pair. How nice to find a true craftsman. After watching several videos online on the resoling process. I know he ranks up there with the best!

Highly recommend! Had a pair of cowboys boots, about 15 years old, soles worn through and heels almost dead and this man brought them back to life. They’re legit like new!

Okay so this place is great. The proprietor is really a sweetheart though he may seem gruff. ? Anyway, he does excellent work. Just remember to bring cash for payment. I brought in two pairs of Birkenstocks for re-soling, $75 each. But considering the cost of new shoes I think it's a bargain. Plus those shoes know my feet!

Does a great job and fairly priced. I brought some chukka boots back there years after he had put new soles on. One sole had started to separate at the toe and he insisted on fixing that for free. Also, he was masked up for my visits.

This guy is a craftsman. I've had him fix soles on all my shoes that were deeply worn and no longer usable. This made these shoes like new again and his sole repairs last longer than cheap factory soles as well. I even had him make me a custom leather belt. He knows his trade well. If you find a pair of real leather shoes you like that you found at at yard sale, bring them to him to have them resurrected. Most shoes sold at large big box stores are now imitation leather called "man made uppers". These do not hold up over time. Real leather shoes are getting harder to find and when you do, they can be pricy. Resurrecting an older used pair is certainly an option. He also has a complete selection of all kinds of shoe laces. A full selection of shoes laces are very had to find, but not here. He comes highly recommended by a fussy guy, me!

He did a great job with the shoes themselves and they were reasonably priced. However, he was unmasked, in the middle of a dangerous pandemic and in defiance of local mandates, which is inexcusable.

Really 2.5 stars. I took my leather flats there to get the side stitching redone about a year ago b/c it was coming apart. He did a decent job, ‘though his replacement stitching was a bit crooked. Fine.I recently took my tall leather boots there to have the zipper replaced. He did that adequately, but when I picked up my shoes the heel of the boot was crushed, and any form it once had in the heel was gone. In the back of the heel and toe there’s a stiff insert b/t the upper and interior material or the leather stiffened to helps keep the form. this was destroyed. It was like someone w/ oversized feet stuck them in my boot and walked on the heels until they were crushed down. I suspect the damage was due to some machine he used and not a fat-footed stranger stretching out my boots. W/ the heel damaged, the fit isn’t the same -- like socks that are constantly slipping down. I was able to re-tighten the leather a bit manually w/ heat which helped a little. But he charged me about the same a new pair of low-priced flats. I was fine w/ the price b/c I’d like to help my community during the pandemic since I'm still pulling in a decent income. BUT when I get a service done, what I get back shouldn’t be stretched, broken or otherwise malformed, and I should not have to go home and do extra work to make it fit properly… which I’m still working on.... and I could see the glue on he used creeping out-- I had to trim the excess. (Does a zipper really need glue?)

I love this store! I have bought several leather and suede items here and was very impressed by the results. My family from out of town was so impressed that they had me take a few of their things back with me to give to him. Recently I needed repairs on a very expensive and very beloved pair of boots, and he was the only person I was comfortable trusting with them, and they now look fantastic again.
