A small but very cool little bookstore located in Amherst, Mass. Despite the small size, the location packs plenty of books and they even had a poetry dispensing machine which I thought was super cool. There’s also a bathroom if you’re wondering - you just have to ask for the key up front.

Just bought a signed copy of Drinking From Graveyard Wells! Very lucky to snag the last copy. The vendor was very nice. They are very serious about excellent shipping services. They shipped it in hard cardboard envelope instead of a soft envelope with padding which prevents damage, which my local bookstore does not do. Also, I bought seven textbooks for a good grand total. I also like their used section. They were also kind to put my book in a paper shopping bag. Love it here! Shop here and local instead of Barnes and Noble. BN does not match the same professional standards as this bookstore.

I've ordered several not-usually-stocked books from Amherst Books, always getting the books in a timely fashion. Great used book collection downstairs, great selection of new titles upstairs, not to mention book stuff. Love this store!

Even when there were more bookstores than bars in town, Amherst Books stood out and has always been my hands-down favorite. (And check out the course books downstairs, arranged by course /faculty.) Great books, service, including ordering books, atmosphere, and hours.

Inappropriate titles in the children's section. All in on Orwellian wokeism at this place to the detriment of an honest academic pursuit. Go to Grey Matter books for a much more varied selection of used books.
