I hate to say this because I was quite excited at the idea of getting a nice hot meal after being out on the Appalachian trail. However the two employees working were just awful and in bad moods seemed like they could care less I ended up getting a burger set in front of me in a reasonable time, just for it to turn out to be the wrong tables food ended up waiting about 40 minutes to finally get my food. Watching other tables including ones who had ordered 20 minutes after me get their food first. If your a hiker your better off enjoying the view and moving on. The food is over priced anyway.

We recently hosted our post wedding breakfast send off at Bascom Lodge with coffee + pastries and couldn’t recommend the location, staff, or product more highly! The view from the enclosed porch - or even their standard dining room - is spectacular. The team is an absolute joy to work with. The homemade pastries were the talk of of the party and the set-up was more than we needed or expected for the fact that we were on the top of a mountain! While we haven’t stayed overnight as guests, I would definitely say you can’t go wrong hosting an event here!

Have now had the pleasure of visiting the lodge four times. This past September, I was lucky enough to be able to spend the night. Awesome atmosphere inside the lodge. They lit a fire to enjoy while we were waiting for dinner. Great meal and delicious breakfast.Rooms: Cozy small roomsFood & drinks: Great home cooked dinner. Great friendly service.

Really cool lodge built in the 1930s by the CCC. Filled with period (or replica) furniture. Beautiful views out the enclosed back porch. Did not stay in the hotel so I can’t say anything about the rooms, but the rates look very reasonable. Hostel-style bunk rooms rates available.Walkability: The top of Greylock is about 10 acres of fairly flat land walkable by anyone, but it’s still the top of a mountain so anything beyond that quickly turns into a steep hike.Food & drinks: There is an on-site restaurant, a bit pricey as might be expected given the location.Noteworthy details: This lodge is the only building atop Greylock besides the War Memorial and a few state equipment buildings/sheds. It is a remarkable lodge in a remarkable location.

Was there for a sit down dinner. The food was great. Unfortunately it was extremely foggy so the normal great views were not there. They also rent overnight rooms for hikers.

Amazing lodge, there can’t be too many left like it. We stayed for a weekend in mid September. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The building is historic, very cool looking, and well taken care of inside and out. Feels like a home.It has a lodge feel, as the bathrooms are shared, but the rooms are nice and everything is clean. Food is excellent, I’d recommend a dinner reservation. It’s very worth the long drive up Greylock, views and experience are hard to match elsewhere. I’ll be back.

Excellent food for the prix fixe dinner, excellent views in good weather. Parking is in debate between the state and the lodge management. Plenty of parking but a debate about whether to pay and where to park.Nearby activities: HikingSafety: The rooms barely lock, but I don't thing you need it.

This is my family's favorite place to visit. We first went to the top 35 years ago, with our family. We have been visiting, hiking and camping there, since then. My wife and I still go th Mt. Greylock, at least every other year. The rooms at the lodge are basic sleeping accommodations, but very clean and cozy. You won't get WI Fi or TV, but if you love nature, hiking , the outdoors and visiting with others, you won't miss the time spent on TV, Ipad or phone. You can still use your smartphone, using data connection. The proprietors John, Peter and Brad have done a wonderful job running the lodge. We enjoy it more than ever. They go out of their way to make stay wonderful! They provide a very nice dinner Wednesday through Saturday! Highly recommended. They now have entertainment with some their dinners. The had a fine Jazz trio 8/12/23. Sitting by the large and cozy fireplace in the evening was very relaxing and enjoyable. It's nice to meet and chat with people from all over country! If you enjoy rustic vacations, you will no be disappointed! Thanks to the entire staff at the lodge! You provided us with truly blessed and wonderful 3 days and nights! The Marlowe family.

This place is like sanctuary high up in Massachussets. The staff is friendly and helpful, the food is delicious and the rooms are clean and comfortable, albeit on the small side. The common area is very nice and there is a beautiful working fireplace for guests to emjoy. This is not the Ritz; expect a rustic montaineer atmosphere. But worth the stay. To do in the area: visite the tower monument next to the lodge or go on a day-hike (on the Appalachian trail route).
