It was my first time here yesterday to get baby rats for my snake. The putrid smell smacks you in the face when you open the door. It smells like mold, mildew and animal waste really strong. He took me back to show me the different rodents and the smell is even worse in the back. While I was waiting for him to box them up, I looked around out front and it's really dirty. Not many products. The fish tanks are really dirty. He ended up putting the 2 rats in a used, dirty plastic food container. It wasnt secure at all and I asked if he had something more secure for the ride home so they dont get out. His solution was to put it in a tiny bag. The plastic box was still hanging out of the bag. I just wanted to get out in the fresh air so I left with it like that. I will never go here again and I hope no one else does too. This place should be shut down. Its a health hazard and not the best conditions for live animals.Edit: My snake didn't eat the rats. Had to go somewhere else to get more and she ate those. Idk if they smelled bad or what but she refused to eat them.

They didn’t have anything no reptiles or exotic fish just one or two tanks and kinda mediocre service when asking about inventory. They need to update their site seriously you’re better off going to pet smart

The Place..When it was Woodlawn Tropical ..that was my place to get EVERYTHING !!!! I still have my UMBRELLA COCKATOO, Duncan, that George sold to my family for my birthday:) ..The pictures that are up are 5-7 years old when the staff cared and knew about the creature they homed. It is truly a shadow of what it use to be ??.

It only has fish right now. Good if you want fish, not so good if you want any other animals.

I've had nothing but a solid experience from this guy every time I walk in!Frequent buyer of LIVE feeder fish, a lot of times big name per stores or someone not as professional will sell weak or diseased feeders that absolutely get quality pets sick. Not only are these feeders lively,(which gets my pets excited to eat), the owner frequently gives way more than what is necessary for what I spent.Likewise, this is one of the few places I can get HEALTHY LIVE mice for a ridiculous bargain. My reptiles love it.Well placed location off Windsor and super easy to get to. Easy payments through cash app and never have any issues with his stock causing any health issues with my animals. He also has Koi for sale and I'm excited to give those a buy.10/10 probably would be the only location I shop at if his selection was a bit larger as far as arachnids and reptiles, because I know they'd be well taken care of.Thank you!

This guy knows nothing about the animals he carry. And the products are over priced if you ask me.

The new ownership is ran by a habibi he’s dishonest and prices are different for the same items everytime. Let this place be your last resort if you have a choice.

I wandered in here to see what this store had to offer compared to pictures and reviews. It was in grim shape and needs some major TLC. The worker, presumed owner, was very nice and helpful. The animals, however, need a condition improvement: if thermometers were correct, the tropical fish and Bettas need an increase from 68!! to around 78-82. The tanks needs a scrub and polish and I think each tank needs a sponge filter added if it does not already have one. The pond fish need some attention. The layout and setup of the tanks overall is very cool and has incredible potential. I think with some dedication or part-time high schoolers the owner could teach and share their knowledge of the trade and how to take care of creatures in the best way possible. I understand they are for sale and will end up in a future home, but their current homes need some love so they can thrive, not just survive. The place itself just needs some rearranging to put the out of use tanks near the back. If they're, for sale, definitely water test them, check the caulking, and give them a clean and slap a used sticker and price on them. I understand they are very heavy, so I do recommend the place have one employee, at least part time if they can afford it. In addition, see if there's a painter who has done a pet store before and get the place touched up. If the owner has an artist in the family, they could do some animal artwork on the walls to bring the place to life. I love the pet industry and private stores, but....this place currently gives a good name to commercial pet stores. It just needs some attention and it could be a 4-5star place easy. If someone occupies the store everyday I encourage them to dive in, I understand it is more/a lot of work, but I think getting involved with animals and upgrading their care is very fulfilling. Hope this helps, respectfully.
